First call go to - Steinberger GM pro. But I'm heavily into 13 pin equipment, so I've got a couple of more-or-less identical Fender Roland-ready Strats, as well as a Vantage V695S w/GK2 on it, and an Ibanez acoustic ditto. About a year and some back I picked up a Squire Affinity Tele - plays great, exceptional bang for the buck, although I've swapped out all switches and pots, installed Duncan Vintage 54's, and put Planet Waves tuners on it. Others - Parker Fly Deluxe hardtail, Samick Artist Pro (strung high and heavy for slide), Jay Turser Hawk 12 string, various steel and nylon string acoustics (best one being a Takamine), a 3/4 scale bass...... couple others. Last time I counted, I think it was like 16 - but yeah, I could strip down to 3 (Steiny, Strat, Tele) and not really miss the others. Dream Guitar - http://www.parkerguitars....re-Series/ The Adrian Belew, can't think of much more I'd want in an axe - but w-a-a-y outta my budget..... Edit - link's kinda funky, but just click on Adrian right above.........

I've got 12 guitars (electrics, acoustics, resonator, Pedal Steel, etc...) From my collection - it's my 72' Telecaster (not a deluxe or custom - an everyday tele) and my 48' Gibson J-45. What do I want that I'm missing? A decent Les Paul (any model) and oddly enough a Peavey T-60.

I have a few that I rotate through. Right now I'm into my PRS SE. Inexpensive as far as PRS's go. Nice feel, nice pickups for less than $500. Pickin' the SE

bapu In case anyone does not know, mine is my Alembic (right) But for most CHB songs these days, My American P-Bass is the GoTo. (middle) Early CHB stuff was done on my Line6 (left) Anyone notice that there is NOT a 5-String of ANY kind in there? I did. If I had photoshop or sumpin I'd fix that pix. Maybe there's another way? I'm thinking yes.

My #1 is the Ibanez Les Paul Deluxe 59er on the left. Ibanez fans may recognize the Artist EQ bridge fitted instead of the standard Gibson style. Factory Super 80 pickups. A close second is the Epiphone Genesis Custom on the far right. It has a slim profile neck, and that peculiar little toggle switch. When engaged, it has a nice, full but bright tone. I've been spending some time getting more acquainted with it lately. The rotary switch on the Gibson S1 needs to be replaced, so it doesn't see much action these days.

My #1 guitar is a 1990 Mexican Fender Telecaster. I've replaced the pickups (twice), the tuners, and the bridge. It's had 2 full decades of heavy wear on the fretboard, including various doses of sweat, alcohol, and blood. The strap buttons have been replaced with heavy-duty screws and washers (that strap will never come off!). It feels great, sounds fantastic, and is extremely familiar. #2 is my 1974 Fender Telecaster Custom. Completely stock, and I've only had it for a couple of years. The neck needs a shim, and it's got a thinner bridge sound than my '90. It doesn't feel as good. It's a close second simply because it's a damned cool guitar.

mike_mccue I'm still looking for a Peavey T60 with just the right wood grain. Isn't it the first CNC body? I'm not sure Mike! I'll need to look into that. I've been wanting one of these for years - but the ones I come across are either in really bad shape (carved up with Floyds installed - ARGHHHHH!) or simply priced far too high.

On the Peavey: when I joined the band Warwazia in 1979 (later to become Black Mariah) I was a bass player and had no 6-string. The band already had a bassist, so the lead singer let me use his Peavey T60, or his 1958 Stratocaster. The Peavey played okay, but I usually played the Strat until I traded my bass for an SG. According to this site http://www.rocknrollweekend.com/peavey_t%2060.htm it was the first CNC guitar. The natural-finish one on the left in the first pic looks like the one Sonny let me use.

Thought I'd post a pic. First group shot with the one I built. I keep these in the stands handy except the Cordoba. It stays in the case. In case I didn't scream loud enough when I plugged in the one I built...it's the Strat style with stripes. All these are my favorites. If I had only these I'd be fine with that. A Dobro is next addition. (hopefully)

PUPs are DiMarzio and the knobs a solid brass as is all the furniture, from a music store called Tim Gentle's now defunct I believe. Strat siting next to it is made from Ash with Seymor Duncan pups.

I just sold off about 5 guitars. They weren't getting touched let alone played. I still have a couple to go. These are the ones that get played. The Ebony Gibson LP 50's Tribute and the Black Warmoth get the lions share of pt. With the Gibson LP Studio VM and the Gibson LP Special NAT a very close #3. The rest do get played regularly just not as much. The Black EPI Dot is a real player it is actually my oldest son's but he migrated toward purely acoustic, so I adopted it.

mike_mccue I'm impressed with the number of people who have enjoyed making their own guitars. I think the fact that many here have done so is really cool! +1 I thought about doing it time and time again but someting always happens and I put it off Must be a great feeling to finish it and actualy be playing or listening back to a recording and thinking I made that guitar :) Theres a lot of companys out there that sell kits dont know weather they are any good or not though. I have actualy been trying to find a strat shaped body but with only one cut out in it at the bridge to fit one humbucker. If any one sees one please let me know :) Norrie
