My favorites, of the low-frequency variety:

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

I'm impressed with the number of people who have enjoyed making their own guitars.

I think the fact that many here have done so is really cool!

+1

I thought about doing it time and time again but someting always happens and I put it off

Must be a great feeling to finish it and actualy be playing or listening back to a recording and thinking I made that guitar :)

Theres a lot of companys out there that sell kits dont know weather they are any good or not though.

I have actualy been trying to find a strat shaped body but with only one cut out in it at the bridge to fit one humbucker.

If any one sees one please let me know :)

Norrie I can say there is a huge difference between assembling one than building one. I've assembled many
and nothing compares to building one from blocks of wood.
It's completely changed me. I finally built one and I see them with a completely different outlook. One really gains more than just an instrument. You learn what that is the first time you plug it in. Unreal.
I've said it before, if it wasn't for the dangerous aspects I'd highly recommend it.

I agree with you the kit packs are just what some one else has made and you stick it all together and put the electrics in but WHat I am looking for is a Pre made strat shape body like I said

I would love to have the room to actualy buy all my timber and build from scratch I am not short on tools to do it just space lol

I have a friend who is learning it at collage hes building a mohogany accoustic at the momment and is loveing every momment of it

You can really see from him the sence of achevment he gets every time a little bit is done
