You've been sharing my musician's life journey for decades via your books/articles, insights, knowledge, enthusiasm and humor. I cannot imagine that ending, so as one door closes, I have no doubt you'll find numerous other and new doors to continue being the genius beacon you've been for so many of us!
Thank you so much and best of luck on your new adventures! I look forward to finding out all about them.

Best of luck to you in your new endeavors, Craig. I have to say (and I hope I'm wrong), I don't like the "feel" of this and of what it might mean to the future of Sonar. I do hope I'm wrong.

Craig, I just want to echo what others have said: you've been a big influence in my musical journey with Cakewalk, and your generosity in both public and private dealings is obvious and appreciated. I wish you the best of luck in the next chapter!

Gibson & Cakewalk probably do not realize how much value you added to their products. We will miss you greatly.

These responses are all very kind and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I would like to add something, because now that I'm out of the picture, I can say whatever I want. Despite the stories, Henry Juszkiewicz was always gracious with me. He was a true friend at a time in my life when I really needed one. I believe he understood what I contributed to Gibson. However he's only part of the picture, and I admit that a lot of what I did was "under the radar" and people like accountants might not understand those nuances. That's fine, that's not their job.

But contributing in ways that are pervasive, whether recognized or not, is what it's all about. We are all unique and have our own contributions to make to this planet. I have never decided what to do with my life, it always took its own course. Gibson was like the business school that I never had. It was an education I could never have afforded, and I will always be grateful for that, as well as for what I learned from Henry.

Cakewalk has been in Alex Westner's hands for the past year, and he is excited about an upcoming new product. I hope it does extremely well. As to me, I want to take what I've learned and move up to the next level. I'm not sure what that will be, but I have no doubt it will be worth pursuing.

To know that I've touched many of you is all the reward I need. I just hope you can forget about how many angels can dance on the head of a 96 kHz pin and devote yourselves to making music that creates an emotional impact in your listeners. I'm almost 69 years old, and my remaining time is limited. I welcome the opportunity to make my final years count in yet another way.

I like your attitude and outlook. You've also helped me out in the short time I've been here. I've noticed in this thread a great respect for you, and a nice spiritual feel from yourself and many other people here. I keep reading the book `The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success' by Deepak Chopra, and many of your comments and those of others here - remind me of that book.
Continued peace and success on your journey, but please help us all out once in a while if you feel the calling.

First off, good luck in all your future projects! However, I know with your level of skill and knowledge you don't really need luck! :) Sincerely!

With that out of the way, THIS SUCKS! I have always read your tips and articles and posts knowing that you have a wealth of technical and musical knowledge and would have the answers for any questions that may arise. I have to believe that Gibson and Cakewalk are naive in how much you mean to this community and to them as an ambassador for their companies. Seeing you deal with malcontents was inspiring. I know I would not merely have that much patience coupled with your knowledge. And, you were always helpful...

Thanks for everything! You will be missed (but hopefully around often).

I feel like I’m saying goodbye to an old friend. Even though we’ve not met personally you’ve been at my place so much, I’m surprised you’ve never complained more when I had to throw you out on occassion. Meanwhile there was a song a good long while ago and if I say “put up a parkin’ lot” I’m sure you’ll get the reference.

Take care mate, hope to bump into from time to time. Thanks for all you never realised you taught me.

Well I guess mostly people have covered the major points... this is definitely unexpected and I think most here would agree it's likely going to feel like a loss for CW and the community in most ways. It's hard to put a finger on exactly what your role has been here, some mysterious admixture of wise elder statesman, mentor, technical and sometimes non-technical advisor, voice of reason, unofficial company rep who gets to be a bit more forthright and off-the-cuff than an official one might, defender of clear writing and civil discourse... but anyway from my perspective it's been a good thing having you around and a good time for both the company and for us forumdwelling weirdos that appreciate this place (and don't quite understand the unbelievable bashing it gets in other forums), and I very much appreciate all your efforts and contributions.

On the other hand I'm excited for you - how many people get to say 'Hey, end of one interesting chapter, beginning of another! Cool!' at an age when many are retiring to the golf course (not that there's anything wrong with that!)? I'm in the middle of something similar myself, two decades or so behind you, and while the uncertainty can be a bit nerve-wracking the sense of possibility waiting to be explored is also exhilerating. So, enjoy!

I do hope you'll still pop your head in once in a while to check up on us, I'll personally miss your honesty and erudition on a more regular basis but I'm also curious to see what you get up to next!

Craig, I am very sad to hear you are leaving us. I think you can not even fully realize how much you helped many of us to work more efficiently in Sonar (especially malcontents ;) but also in sharing your approach to things. As already said you were added value to Cakewalk products. But I think we all understand your decision and cross all fingers  that your any possible plans will complete as you want. Hope for the best for your future plans and lots of great music produced by you, and also many appreciation from people you will be connected to in your new way.
