i'll order one, but it'll be late arriving due to inefficient hardware in the pistolpete megastore, though it'll not be the fault of Reeltech, the prefereed fishing tackle supplier for Pete's band...

Memorare debut album 'Philistine' available now http://blackwoodproductio...philistine-digipack-cd

Fixing the code and making it more efficient is the answer.

I understood and agree with the bollocks bit, but can't quite get my head around the rest of it. (Too technical for me) Anyway I'm sure you're dead right, so take note Pete

hey Pete

A new soundcard (or line6 toneport) will just reroute the signal away from GT3 and only avoid the issue. It does not fix the issue. It has been noted as a suggestion so please do not rant and rave about this.

huh, this is bollox. the soundcard/driver merely takes an analogue signal, converts it to 0s and 1s, feeds that audio stream to the software host (GT3 in your case), and takes the audio stream out of GT3 and converts it back to electrical pulses. Whatever soundcard you use, this is what it does. now, some cards can offer you mixing options which takes the A/D part out of the round-trip equation and merely splits the input straight to the output to meet the D/A stream from the software - and halve the latency. or some of us use mixers to get hardware near-zero monitoring. whatever. the point is - efficient semi-pro or pro cards and drivers are the answer.

Thing is Alan, you will get your head round it.

Unlike the lovable bell-end who can't see past the end of his own latency.

I certainly will mate.

Been a little busy of late and I want to do it justice.

Just as an aside, my mate WayneTicklerUK came over today and gave my Edirol keyboard a bit of a workout - he's a veteran of 'proper' synths. Said he liked some of the sounds in the Proteus though!

And tomorrow my old mate and bassist/singist SidStrummerUK is coming over for a jam - when we were a lot younger we used to take every opportunity to crank up the amps and belt out a bit of Priest and Quo; nowadays, sadly, the opportunities are much rarer.

Get down, deeper and down................

Steve,
here's a short list of my favorite 'proper" synths.
Rapture. The only one I've paid for. A must have at some point.
Abakos. Lots of interesting presets
Crazy Diamonds. Relatively simple, but some cool sounds
Crystal. A standard for many years
Triangle II. Intimidating GUI, but lots of presets.
Cygnus. Sounds like its name. Lots of really slow building pads. if you think you aren't getting anything, hold the keys longer.
Majken's Chimera. It's just different.
Delay Lama. ' Cause you just have to have the Lama. try it.

My Soundclick Page
SONAR Professional, X3eStudio,W7 64bit, AMD Athlon IIx4 2.8Ghz, 4GB RAM, 64bit, AKAI EIE Pro, Nektar Impact LX61,Alesis DM6,Alesis ControlPad,Yamaha MG10/2,Alesis M1Mk2 monitors,Samson Servo300,assorted guitars,Lava Lamp

Cheers for that Bob

I remember you recommended Rapture to me before - it's on my to-get list!

Of the ones you mention, I've already got Crystal and Triangle II - I think the Triangle was a free Cake download?

Off to get the rest now.

Thanks again
