10Ten I suggested that some weren't being completely honest and it seems that I was right as many have become much more candid in the last couple of days. That is not lying and I never said it was. It would seem that right and wrong for you is totally based on whether someone agrees with you or not.
Yeah yeah, whatever

Kroneborge I really hope Cakewalk wasn't rushing for 10Q's. As a Economist/CPA (my real job), I think one of the big problems with a lot of corporate America. Moreover, I think it backfires more than it helps. Focusing on short term profit over long term growth and customer satisifcation just results in less futuer revenue, and often times, no company. In fact it could definitely be argued that most of the sub-prime housing fiasco is because of people focusing on short term gains and bonuses. I'm almost there with you. I think it is very much a short term gain/long term pain type of scenario. I have been seeing this develop with a fair number of companies over the past few years...instead of developing a market we are seeing people think in terms of short gains... Not very healthy environment to grow/develop a product. I worked at one time in a company that did just this type of thing...we hardly would get a prototype set up and marketing already had 125,000 orders in....

I truly believe CW understands that many are really unhappy. Reposting the same crap over and over and over andover andover again (whoops, got carried away) is just plain stupid. Especially if you invade positive threads to post the same crap. CW gets it. Are you kidding? With all the crap that's been flying their way they get it. So now we must wait and see what they do about it. Does that make any sense to anyone? Just my 89 cents I actually agree very much with that comment. And to reiterate: Now we must "wait" and see what they do about it.

10Ten Nope. Cake is thinking that all of this will quiet down in a month or so. It is our job to remind them that X1 sucks because no one else will. ) guess the word "civil" escapes you ;) X1 doesn't suck. And if it does, speak for yourself please? Don't say "our job" or "we think." You have the right to tell them what you want, of course -- but for you and you alone. And even if you think it really sucks, so stop using it or report the bugs or communicate with CW. But I do think you seem to want to intrude into any conversation on this forum that even hints that someone else is having success with the product. At least be balanced and fair. I ask you to do so as a fellow human, but I suspect you don't give a damn. And when people do not take time to be considerate of others, it's my concern that it is themselves that they dislike most. I'm sure you'll disagree though. I expect it, frankly. This is the "you" you choose to be in the world, isn't it.

I can't take this anymore. I come here to see if anything has been fixed, but it's all getting too much. I feel like I can't speak the problems I'm having without being told to shut up or called stupid. If you haven't noticed, my posts have dropped significantly here late. It just sucks anymore. X1, you really did change everything. *sigh* Not talking to you Billy ... wanted to make that clear. Just needed to vent and it happened here.

Bub, I always appreciate your posts but you're posting in an 11 page thread titled "I SMELL A RAT" and wondering why things aren't smooth sailing? Really? There's a ton of threads on the forum where people won't call you stupid or tell you to shut up for posting about a problem. You just need to find them. X1 hasn't changed that.

X1, you really did change everything. *sigh* Not talking to you Billy ... wanted to make that clear. Just needed to vent and it happened here. I appreciate your making me an exception, though I feel uncomfortable in that regard. Bub, I do understand your frustration. I was a bit over the top initially when X1 was released. But I've found a way to balance things out for myself by simply sticking with 8.5.3 for serious music making, and playing with X1 when I have time. And having input here when I think I can add something to the discussion. You don't need to feel anything sucks - even if it does ;) You have options. And while no one likes paying money for a product and being disappointed (which you obviously are), I think we can all be assured that CW will be coming out with patches. Whether they will do the job or not remains to be seen, but not all hope is lost. So stop beating yourself up and allowing something to push your buttons, because it's not necessary. Just go back and use the tool(s) that work for you - for now. And see what comes down the pike. We're all waiting for this next patch. I suspect even those doing well with X1 will want to see what X1b will have. But there's really nothing to be gained by putting more stress in life when there are options. As you know, even though I'm not using X1 on a regular basis, I do not think it sucks. I think it was rushed out with too many glaring bugs, yes. But that can be fixed (and many of us hope they will be). In the meanwhile I can make ALLLL the music I want, and without stress, back in 8.5.3. And even though I've been seriously diving into Studio One Pro - I still say Sonar has most of the features I need NOW (except for those bugs lol) and am definitely waiting anxiously for X1B and with a lot of "hope". I also hope I won't be disappointed lol. But we'll see. So take a breath.... enjoy life. Make music with the tools you like and trust for now. You'll feel better I bet ;)

It just rubbed me the wrong way to the point where I can't even go back to the thread that it happened in because if I do, I'll say what I really think of the person and probably get banned. They just caught me at the wrong time on the wrong day so it's probably best if I just shut er' down for the night.

When I was in therapy years ago (by choice lol) -- my shrink (and mentor) said to me about making music (I was struggling to feel creative at the time): "Use your ears!" 3 simple words. But they woke me up. So I say to you, Bub: Use your brains! IF you go back into the dungeon of posts, just think things through - ask youself why something is bothering and why and HOW you might respond. Just a suggestion of course. None of us is perfect. But it does help to ask ourselves why and how we respond to things. You might even get some people to think ;) I'm just sayin' ... :D

Guilty as charged for being a part of some of these threads. I'm no angel. However, it seems painfully obvious to me that there are a "few" s..t stirrers, and then a whole bunch of us just trying to make sense of it. I don't think it's the large group that is making the trouble I'd love to be able to stay out of others business (no country for whiners like me though) and strictly be either helpful or informative but I admit, I get drawn in. I'm as confused as anyone. Things work for me that others don't for others, and the other way around.
