I SMELL A RAT!!
just my observation and i am just a lowly dreg from the CH whos used 12 tone produsts from way back DOS days and all the pro audio series the sheer number of NOOBS who are posting here ****ing about X! , a few post counts, NO description of their hardware etc, and immediately promote XYZ software as flawless come on now .. NOW yes X1 has issues, the seasoned citizens here have their fair share of issues, although some go way overboard and should give it a rest ... and some have no issues ... Im just thinking if REAL first timers who are considering X! are coming here ,they are confused as hell, they wont be able to discern the trolls from the real issues , maybe ... ' I am not discounting there are"bugs" I had some issues but resolved them I am also a little puzzled with the people who READ this forum but pulled the trigger on X1 and are in a HIGH DOLLAR production situation and whine about their issues with losing this that or the other ...going to presonus , blah blah IF 8.5.3 WAS working for you .. did you not keep it on your PC ??? I just think something is fishy with SOME of the posts

I agree on the theory. I pointed this out about a week ago in another thread. All these new, low count X1 complaining people, no identification of the issue, no listing of hardware, no asking for help. When I talked to Brandon at NAMM they have a new plan for the future which will weed out this type of activity or let's say make it obvious. Then there is this guy in another thread who is beating up the product. Turns out he doesn't own it but saw the videos on youtube and starts complaining. Sheesh.

Some here have no problems with X1, and, granted, some do have problems with X1. I have no problems, no crashes, glitches, no BSODs. I agree with the OP. However, I suggest reading this: http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2199928 I feel like I am taking a risk posting anything positive about X1. It is working well for me and others. There are problems with AudioSnap and VVocal, but I seldom use either. Hopefully, these functions will be fixed soon. I wish all of you great music making.

musicman100 IF 8.5.3 WAS working for you .. did you not keep it on your PC ??? This is the $99 question... Some rats, but I think folks are really irritated that it doesn't work like the old way even though they said it was different. I wish I would have read that disclaimer...

@ Guitarmech111 yes, all true. I pulled the trigger early on the first day .. for 99 dollars it was not a hard decision , kind of like the 20.11 studio one deal ... BUT you know what,, if you go back in time the same things happened with 8.0 , in fact i wish i could find DAvenys post about the cycle here with every new release and patch same groundhog day scenerio

I feel like I am taking a risk posting anything positive about X1. Player there is no risk is stating the truth. Don't let anyone shout you down. I do see people here condemning X1 and not having either an understanding of it and or not ever having used it. That is troubling. I have no problem with bug reporting nor finding an issue with the GUI that is real. I do have a problem with as one thread said piling on. No attempt to resolve a problem but simply to add more fuel to the fire. One does have to wonder about motivation in some of the posters.

Quote from Jonsered - "Rothchild. Here is my problem: Your account has been banned until n/a. Reason: TOS Violation If you believe this is a mistake, you can contact forum admin for more information. I tried to contact admin, but email didint work. Like X1 JOKE, JOKE. So I made a new account. New ban comming now??? My real user name is CarlosJones. Here are my sonar versions i have used (cakewalk pro audio 9 is missing) Sorry i change my serials :)" (I'm not sure how to cross quote posts) Carlos, thank you for your full response (you're absolutely right not to have shared your serial numbers!). I hope you will concede that, upon reflection, your posting record does read more like an advert for another product than properly articulated issues with X1, or any real attempt to resolve those (implied) issues. I suspect that your attempt to resell X1 is what earned you your ban (I don't think license transfers are compatible with the with the Sonar EULA?). Still, the alarm bells are ringing louder and louder for me that theres a 'guerilla marketing' campaign occurring around here. I think cake were very tolerant of the 'change the landscape' thread, and credit to them for that (like the restaurant that tells people to go elsewhere). Like I said elsewhere, it's no real skin of my nose, I'm more interested in the marketing angle. All my research at the moment basically says that Sonar 8.5.3 is the still the best DAW for me and that, after a couple of small tweaks I should have minimal issues coming up to X1, I'm just in no rush for the 'latest and greatest' Cheers, Child

musicman100 Mike I know you have issues with X1 are you using 8.5.3 or did you completely go to the dark side (PT9) I never went to 8.5.3... I'm on 8.5.2 I really prefer SONAR to the other choices. I'm just learning the other stuff as a sideline. I actually launch X1 first every morning and then go back to 8.5.2 when it's time to stop learning for the day. best regards, mike
