this is really awesome guys. you guys nailed this, I mean perfect, I thought the mix was great, haven't gone through all the posts except the first 3 or 4 so I don't know if this was a remix with more low end ? either way it was sweet guys. thanks for the trip down memory lane, now I will give you something...memory lanes liner notes: I love this song and it was the second lynyrd skynyrd tune id even heard, because of this fun fact: when I was 10 years old I went out and bought a 45 record (ya so my age is showing) a single called:"whats your name" side B of that 45 record was "I know a little" I loved them both and that's how I became a long loving relation ship with the bands music. im from boston and most 10 year old kids my age were not listening to skynyrd. I was different and a musician just starting on guitar converting from piano. a not so fun fact: if my memory recalls,3 weeks after buying that single I was in front of my television around 8 pm at night and during a commercial there was a special news bulletin about the plane carrying the band lynyrd skynyrd has crashed and it is unknown how many survivors. I still have this 45 in my studio up on the wall.

I remember that crash :-( I was there "for this?" before the crash, at the stadium, on the field. http://www.classic-rock-concerts.com/performances/31927 There must have been 50,000 people there? I remember my date, Pam Houle? She blew me off, and not in the way that I enjoyed either... Once we got there, she took off. So I watched it alone? But it was still pretty awesome :-) Nazarith did "Now you're messin with... A SOB" Or maybe it was Hair of the dog? I know they did "Love hurts." and some other cool tunes. Ted Nugent was a wild man, and in his hay day? He probably did Wang a dang, and Great White Buffalo. Aerosmith was still young? And doing their big early hits? I know Skynyrd did Free Bird, and Sweet Home, and some others? What a show... I "may" have, well "had some altitude?" Not for some time, that's for sure, but on that day, as I recall? I may not have been at ground level...

I really appreciate that Frank, and I know that Grant does? Coming from a guitar player like you. Your original written for your friend though... It comes from the heart. And you can feel it when you listen to it. I'm not familiar with the situation, but we've all been familiar with something that shouldn't be. And sometimes it speaks to us in a way that we have to express our emotion in our art. And I believe that "that" Is when our art reaches it's highest form... So Again, we thank you, while at the same time standing in awe of your gifts. You are a truly gifted musician, writer, performer and Engineer. I pray that things happen the best they can for all concerned. And I wish peace to all who are involved. Hard times come to us all? Some of us are going through them right now... Some have been through them? And for others? They come... The fire tempers the metal. Without fire, you cannot make steel. And without steel, you cannot overcome what needs to be overcome.

See? I'm not always an ****? Sometimes I'm a profound ****... (I don't think they like me referring to myself as a rear-hole, I'm sure it's a minority point of view) It doesn't change what I said, or how I feel about it. Thanks again, and again, I hope things work themselves out as best they can. Remember? There's a master plan, and we are only a small part of it...

Tap Nice job, guys .... Excellent playing and mix.... Nice to see your still at it Robby! Mister Tippitty Tap Tap Tap :-) You know I'll be doing this past the time I should have stopped? Like an old boxer who doesn't know when to quit? I still got a pretty solid left hook ;-) And if all else fails? I kick them in the wavos and run like hell! Thanks very much for listening, and for commenting!

rscain Really impressive job on a really tough song to cover. Guitar is well done. Pedal steel and piano parts are spot on, particularly the piano. Best part, to me, is the vocal, you nailed it. Mix sounds good, any critique there would just be quibbling. Great collab, congratulations! I wanna know, have you ever seen rscain :-) Thanks very much, I did the vox, the steel, and the piano! :-) But my collaborator Mr. OhGrant actually rocked the house? He came to me w/the guitars, bass and drums and asked me to sing it. Thanks very much, your very forgiving and very kind ;-)

:-) I just realized, you can't listen to this and not smile? And either tap your foot, and or kind of bop your head a bit? :-) I love it when that happens! Mr. Grant Starr kicked the **** out of the guitars on this... And I'm a fan of Billy Powell and I do love the keys... I can't do it live I have to admit? But with a little time... I can convince you that I am a damn keyboard player :-) Actually a hack guitarist, and not a bad bass player? And I play the mandolin, dobro, lap steel (on this tune) and a few other instruments and of course I love to sing :-) But I do love the keys... Love the keys. The really cool thing about keys is, you get the piano? But you also get the organ? And if you feel it up here (points at noggin...) You can lay down orchestra, Saxamaphone, all kinds of shiz... You gotta love the keys! Keys are KING! If I could only pick one, it would be the keys... Even though the guitar is my 1st instrument, and the one I write on? But if I could pick "one" it has to be the keys, because they are so versatile. And it's MIDI? So you get all of the benefits of being able to slow it down, look at it on a grid, copy and paste, quantize, etc... You just gotta love the keys! There are many very talented guitarists here, "many..." And I do love the guitar? And the bass... But the keys? :-) Keys rule people! I wish I was better at them, but self taught? I do OK :-) And better every song! Wait till you hear the one Mr. No999 and I are working on ;-) It still blows my mind that we are even attempting it.

Sorry I've been busy lately folks, busy season here and labor is really taking a toll on me. Big thanks to all but special thanks to Frank, Kenny and Daryl in many ways you have all been an inspiration to me. I love all styles of guitar but you fellows practice an art that is most pleasing to my ear. Big thanks brother Strummy so glad you had a swing with us. I can't say enough what an honor it was to work with one of Cakewalk's finest. Mr Robbie Robbins. I always wanted to hear him sing it. Way exceeded my expectations on that. Piano and slide were a total and delightful surprise.
