R U implying that SONAR is Eco-Friendly?

why? because jimbo88 is getting zombified by the placebo fx dantarbill mentioned or because of the new improved vapoware 1024bit mixengine they forgot to mention in the advertising folder..???

I just loaded a sequence of a John Williams film Score I created direct from the music. It cracked and popped in S7 and still does so in S8.

This one I'm very interested in.

What's the track count?
What's the instrumentation?
What are the audio preferences?

Does raising/lowering the buffer make it go away?

If you have the time...

Thanks,
- zevo

Track count is about 40. 1/2 ar soft synths 1/2 is hardware. Midi Faders are flying like crazy on all channels. 3 seperate of all wwinds/brass except tuba... perc/harp/ piano... 1st and 2nd violins/violas/ cello/dbasses Freezing and reocrding the hard synths in removes the popping problem.

so sonar 8 has better sounding cracks and pops ?? hahaha GREAT

btw: yes- eventually you are loosing your mind cos since they didnt advertise any acoustic imnprovement in the engine i am TOTALLY sure that there is none...

cheesr

What you are hearing is some of the "more" that was described in the early ads. It's a new, third party plug called "Placebo FX".

Noel, care to comment?

I hear Placebo Domingo was a big Sonar user.

OK ...Sonar 8 is on my computer. Reg was easy and quick. S8 looks very much like S7. I played back a sequence I fininished in the AM and eveything was fine. CPU usage was lower, maybe 40%-60%. I'm not a tech guy so i don't know how to measue for real just using my eye.

The little transpor is bigger and I had to slide things around, other than that nothing musch looks different. I did not load the additional content on 3 other discs. That will have to wait.

I thought it wasn't out yet, isn't it a pre-order right now!? Where are the screenshots!!! AGGG!! I am jealous if you really have it already

Other posts here have confirmed that SW did ship at least one copy (to the chagrin of CW).

Well I ordered Sonar 8 PE today. I called both Cakewalk and Sweetwater first. Cakewalk said that if I ordered today, it would ship tomorrow. Sweetwater said that if I ordered today, they would ship it when they got them in, which would be very soon. There website says that the 7 to 8 PE upgrades have been shipped from Cakewalk and should be available in a day or two. My rep seemed to not know anything about any going out yet, but didn't say for sure that they hadn't.

My biggest concern with making the move is compatibility. Do all of your projects seem to be transferring without any issues? Any problems with stability/crashes?

Do we really need to see a screenshot to believe him? There's not enough proof on this forum from the dozens of people who said they received a FedEx confirmation from Sweetwater on Tuesday to confirm? Is it a mass conspiracy? Is it the same person posting under different names?

I'm pretty sure he's not lying. Nor would I assume are the few other forumites who also received their copy today. By tomorrow, a lot more will have.

So Jimbo, I wouldn't stress about trying to post a screenshot unless you just want to know anyway.

Any useful screenshots (apart from those that already leaked)?

My box didn't arrive today, so you are my source of gear p0rN for now.......

Actually there is a really tasty screen shot of S8 already on the forum. See this: Purple Roy-al Color Scheme Scroll down to micbeats post. It doesn't say S8, but, hmmm, it has a pause button on the transport.

I hate to be a cynic, but did anyone notice the icon and version number are photochopped out in micbeats pics ... why??? Guess the pause and RR/FF buttons could have been added too …

Good news is mine shipped today "via Cakewalk"!!! However, no tracking number …

Oh well, back to what I hate.

That was posted a couple of days ago, so my take was that he was probably a beta tester, and didn't want to breach the confidentiality agreement etc, so he tried a bit of covering up. I didn't see any reason for him to fudge it, and he did not claim that it was S8, he was just sharing his color scheme. There are other things in the pic, other than the transport. I think there's an extra Solo button, for example. I haven't studied it too closely, but it looks right to me. Anyway no big deal.

Yeah I'd like to learn how to post a pic or graphic. I see them all the time and have no idea to do it. I really care less if people don't believe I have S8. I should not be wasting my time anyway

Just checked and my upgrade has also shipped from Cakewalk. No tracking number, or serial number/registration numbers yet though in the account area. Won't panic about that though...until I get it next week.

Reading some posts I'm starting to figure a couple of things. Sweetwater sent Sonar out ground. That normally takes 2 days and would make the delivery date Oct 2nd. I live very close to a FedEx center and recieve just about everything next day no matter how it is shipped. I recieve so many things fedex I know the drivers personally and even give some of them Christmas gifts. Those upset about not recieving it early..... the only reason I recieved it was pure luck of where I live.

Just thought I'd mention that personally I'm able to cut my latency in about half using SONAR 8 versus SONAR 6/7. I'm finding no need to go above 4.4ms even with large projects (2.2 doing typical writing/jamming/creation). No dropouts, clicks, or pops. Yay!
