I'd have stood quietly in the corner, though. No way I'd sit down at a keyboard in this crowd.

Great vid! Kinda makes me wonder if any of those boards needed re-conditioned after the pounding they took. :)

Still, not very happy with that 15 gig C7, nor with the honkytonk upright. Should have been a mellow one.

My box has been here all day but I can't install it until I get the new drive installed, populated & tested. From what I'm reading it might be a good idea to install the omnisphere 2 update prior to installing Keyscape. All I can say right now is the Box looks nice and Audio Deluxe did a Great job of getting it here. There is a sticker on the box that says this product can be registered on or after 9/12/16. Interesting they would have spent the money to have that sticker placed on the outside of the shrink wrap...

Yup...I'm debating on whether or not to get an external SSD drive for it or not. I've plenty of room on one of my existing drives...although it's not an SSD. Plus Jim says my current DAW's USB 3 won't run the SSD at top speed. And, of course, I'm a cheapskate.

I just got it installed on the laptop. Have only tested it with existing midi files so it would not be fair to judge it from that but, I have it installed on a Samsung 850 ssd and it is slow to load when changing instruments. I can also confirm that the C7 does not support half pedal unless the setting is buried somewhere I have yet to discover. The install went well, no issues, but it does take a while to do a full install from the usb drives. Should probably block off at Least a couple of hours, from start to finish, to install & authorize. Also, the usb drives have a different kind of connector that swings out away from the drive that had me stumped at first. I kept wanting to pull it out vs. swing it out. Can't say too much about the sounds yet but they are mostly different from my existing sounds so it could turn out really good depending on the material you try to use them on. I think they will really come into play for someone that is a heavy Spectrasonics user and uses them with other omni, trillian, and RMX stuff. It is going to take a Hell of a machine to run all that stuff though...

I've been shopping locally for a 120-240gig External SSD to house and run Keyscape on (it arrives today!) only to find that none of the big box stores (Office Depot, Staples, BestBuy, etc...) carry them "in stock"...they have to be ordered. Bummer. Was looking forward to getting it installed and running this weekend. Now it might be next week. Dern.

Will be interested in your thoughts on how it runs from an external drive, I hope it works out for you. I should have it installed in my desk machine later today and will then have controllers to actually trigger it live. The desk machine was built by Jim Roseberry a couple years ago, but it is still a powerhouse with 3 separate ssd sample drives, so I will be interested to see how it runs there.

Got mine installed today. The sounds are lovely and quite detailed. I honestly think the C7 piano they sampled is very well done. It compares very favorably with other recently released "big" piano libraries. Between this one and Pearl, I'm all set. I likely won't be using Ivory II anymore. The rest of the instruments are very good. The Rhodes and clavinets are awesome. I will be replacing my sample drive with an SSD as soon as they drop a bit more, however. Streaming is fine, but the load times, as Rick says, are quite long. All in all, this was a good buy, though it is too bad Spectrasonics priced it where it's at. I thing @299, this would be an easy sell. Regards, Dan

I just got to actually Play some of the instruments and they do sound good but quite processed. If you have the sustain pedal pressed and then release it, it's like someone turned off the lights... All-in-all, still very usable. Still experience slow loads on the desk machine and the 'Duo' instruments will give you time to take a relaxing breath before you can play anything. It could be an issue trying to change instruments in a Live situation. It is very responsive and I did not notice any drop outs or change in audio even sustaining several notes. I was not monitoring cpu or drive usage as I was too caught up in the sound. Personally I am satisfied with it, even lacking half pedal on the C7, but I agree with Dan that $299 would have been more realistic pricing. It is basically the piano version of Trilian bass. Looking forward to spending more time with it.

Remember, like Omnisphere, the presets all are heavily processed, but the raw samples are still there as sound sources if you want to make your own. I'm really liking the LA C7. Been playing it most of the day. Regards, Dan
