I can't preview any *.rx2 files. Not even files included in Sonar Platinum installation?? Wav files play as normal. Any had this problem before?
 
I run Windows 8.1 64 bit. i7 3770K 3,5 Ghz processor. 16 GB RAM.
Motu Ultralite MK3 Hybrid audio interface.

Is the correct audio preview bus selected for the browser?

This seem to happen in project I am working on. When trying to set up a new project (Normal Template) is seem to work. However, can't understand why this happens in my project. I have used rx2 files before in various project.
 
I have double checked my routing and preview bus. And my Wav files are working...
 
when double clicking the rx2 file I get "DirectShow Error [0x80040265]
File not supported....

The last time you had this problem (see link above) here's how I answered, and you said this fixed it:
 
I think (not sure) I ran across this a couple times in the past. IIRC it related to using some of the really old stereo DirectX plug-ins (perhaps Tempo Delay) with mono tracks. My memory is a little hazy on the fix, but I think I converting the mono clip to stereo solved the problem.

I am sorry for the double question. I had forgotten about that...
However, I did search the forum but didn't find a good answer. 
 
Anyways, the problem only happens in certain projects, not when I create a new project from "Normal" template. 
It's when I try to preview some of the *.rx2 loops included in Sonar Platinum this problem occur. Craigs EDM drums for example.
 
Thanks for your reply to my somewhat confused question (not remembering what I ask for in life;)

Create a copy of the project which has the issues, remove ALL effects, try auditioning the RX2 files, and report back on what happens.

When I had X3 studio 3 years ago, I had no problems with wav files and rx2 files. I could drag and drop both.
Some of my favorite drag and drop loops were in the loops/sample magic folder. That's like 10% of the library.
 
I cant preview, insert or play ANY *.rx2 files from media browser/preview either. Only wav files
Same error: "DirectShow Error [0x80040265] File not supported..."
 
I suspect platinum may be missing or doesn't have rex file playback capability...
 
Hey Craig Anderton: can you guys check it out? ...was it maybe overlooked?
 
browser/audio library/loops/sample magic...every sub folder is rex file.
Why don't you have cakewalk convert them all back to wav files and then put them in an update?
I think for $500 we should be able to access them, don't you?
