It looks like the price to upgrade from Editor 2 to Editor 4 is $99 on the Celemony site. Where (or how) are you finding these prices? I'm not seeing them anywhere on the Celemony site. I have Editor 2 and nothing pops up telling me about the update. Thanks Bjorn

Celemony actually did all the work. I just asked them how to get to the upgrades.

Did you all see the tempo mapping and shaping feature of Studio? That alone is worth the $50 difference in 2E ->4E vs 2E->4S.

If one goes from editor 2 to studio 4, is there access to the v4 version of the plugin?

That just looks like so much fun. Total Synth stuff for regular audio. It's like robots becoming more like humans and humans becoming more robotic... both audio and midi generated audio are merging.

Since Essential 4 will eventually be included in Sonar Platinum 2016, and I already own Editor 2, does anyone know if both Essential 4 and Editor 2 can coexist in a Sonar or any DAW? I am on the fence about update to Editor 4 as v2 is sufficient. Any thoughts about v2 Editor and v4 Essential both working? I would not want to install Essential v4 and find out that it removed v2 Editor.

The way I read the .pdf comparsion Studio can be used as a Stand alone, Rewired, or a vst in Sonar.

Tough call. If they keep the same registry product ID I would think V4 Essential would override V2 Editor.

In the past you couldn't have two versions installed at the same time. So I doubt you can keep Editor V2 and install Essential V4. So you'd have to skip installing Essential V4 to stick with the V2 Editor until you were ready to upgrade it. Their store is the worst setup I've ever seen. The only way to get upgrade pricing from Editor V2 is to actually go to each of the new product pages themselves. If you go to the Upgrades page they list a bunch of stuff that doesn't include the Editor version at all. Crazy.

V4 and it's upgrades haven't shown up at the retailers yet either, as a rule it's usually cheaper to get their stuff from AudioDeluxe or JRRShop.

I was reading earlier (tried to find it again but haven't been able to yet) and upon installation of v4 it appears that it uninstalls your v2, I don't think you can have both from that and other things I have read. If I can find it I will post it here, but the site is a bit . . . well, not the most intuitive, maybe it is just me. I am making the jump, at $149 from Editor v2 to Studio v4, I think it is a no brainer.

cecelius2 . . . this is a great question, couldn't be worded it any better than you stated it, hopefully it will get moved to the main Sonar user forum (hint, hint) since it's an important consideration for all Sonar users who leaped on the Melodyne Essential to Melodyne Editor upgrade deal offered a few years back. Can they co-exist ? Probably not. Hopefully Cakewalk has a plan for this. Inquiring minds really want to know.

FYI, AudioDeluxe now sells the Melodyne Editor(v1 only?) to Editor v4 upgrade for 84 US$, and Melodyne Editor(any version) to Studio v4 upgrade for 126 US$ (once added to your cart). IMO, at that price, the Studio upgrade is no-brainer :) Chuck

The Editor V2 to Studio V4 upgrade is at AudioDeluxe for $125.99 Would be nice to know if this is some sort of intro price, I don't use Editor V2 all that much but enough to not want to miss a discount to get Studio V4.

Indeed the upgrade from Editor 2 to Studio 4 is $149, which I think is a fantastic price. Given the new features, I think it should be well worth it. Funny, like some others, I didn't initially see the upgrade path, but after checking with Celemony via email (they got back to me so quick it was unbelievable) it was on their page if you log in and then click to buy the full thing--but you have to scroll to the page bottom, and there are several upgrade paths, including Editor 2 to Studio 4-- I think I'll go for it, once I check with my secret accountant....

msorrels The Editor V2 to Studio V4 upgrade is at AudioDeluxe for $125.99 For that price, I could not resist getting the upgrade from Editor 2 straight to Studio 4 @ AudioDeluxe. I mean your talking just an additional $25.99 to get Celemony's no holds barred flagship product as opposed to the official $99 upgrade price from Editor 2 to Editor 4. As others have said, a total no brainer deal for registered Editor 2 users. Cheers, Billy Buck
