Midnight Minuet II w/ Scott Campbell new mix 6/17

I wrote this one a few years ago and Scott added some extremely cool strings to it.  Later I felt like I wanted the song to continue on with the same energy it started with, instead of slowing down like I had it.  So I rearranged it and he very graciously agreed to rework that part.  And I'm extremely impressed with and elated by what he did.

Mix by him too, fortunately.  :)  Comments welcome.  And thanks again, Scott!

Midnight Minuet II

3/13--Scott did some more magic to the track.

6/17 -- even more magic, based on some recent comments.  Thanks again, guys!

You know, Janet, you come up with some pretty darn good stuff.
And Scott's not half bad on this either.

I definitely got lost in the moment while listening to this.  The melody is haunting, and the arrangement kept my attention as the orchestra seemed to build to a crescendo.  This collaboration seems to go together like chocolate and ice cream.  Well done.

Janet/Scott - Pretty darn good.   Interesting piece, performance/mix is quite outstandind as well.   I wouldn't change too much about it except where it builds you could put in a bit of orchestral percussion.   Just a few crashes, maybe some timpani, bass/snare drum really sparsely placed.  It doesn't need it but I think it would add a nice finishing touch.

    Hi Janet
WONDERFUL piece/collab.   I agree with MARKNO would of been nice to hear some sprinkles of percussion. Nice vibe on the lower end use of the piano.  KUDOS!

Marvellous! The energy in it and the piano vs strings approach reminded me of a couple of collaborations that Jon Schmidt has done recently (well, over the last couple of years).

It sounds really professional, and well recorded.

Kudos to you both, great track!

    Cheers,
    Terry.

Whereas I liked the piece and its power and energy, the mix seems too compressed to me. JMO.

Aside from some timing issues, this sounds pretty awesome. Could totally see this being part of a soundtrack for a movie or something. Nice work. Mark

Really nice composition.  Arrangement is perfect.  Needs some string bass and little warmth in the mid lows and lows.  Can't hear much of anything low end on my system.  Love what you two did.
