I'm on the AAS site now going through their demos. Something tells me this is going to be a tough one... So far the sets mentioned previously seem to most like what I'd want anyway, but to choose just one...

It was a tough choice. The Journey bank sounded really nice. But I ended up getting the Kinetic bank for Chromaphone. I raced through a bunch of the presets late last night and there are a LOT of usable ones! This is the best freebie from Cakewalk so far. A big thanks to CW and AAS for this!

Hey Steve, you probably know this already but there is also a free pack that has a selection from all the other swatch patches for the AAS player. It includes a selection of 93 swatches. All pretty cool.

I am working out which one to choose, but wonder if any of you got the Freebie Swatches from AAS over the holidays? I don't want to overlap that one with my CW freebie choice. I will go to AAS for some kind of clarity, but wonder if anyone here, is in this boat with me? Thanks Michael

But I don't recall it having anywhere near 93 patches overall. Is there a newer one available?

Well, I forgot my free Swatches was signing up for the newsletter. There is a newer one with 98 patches (vs 93) and it has 8 patches from the dozen banks, that the Producers Content Club, now gets to pick one of. So, there isn't a way avoid the overlap, I mentioned earlier. Oh well, still, it is all free and sounds great! Back to trying to choose...... Michael

Tell me about it... Yeah, I thought the swatches would help but there's so many good sounds in there that it's only made it more difficult. For those who chose 'Journeys' what are your first impressions?

I like Journeys also. Second on the list of choices would be 'Entangled Species', but Journeys seemed more usuable right up front. However, you run into its range limitations fairly quick, so my next thought is how I can manipulate them further without having to step up into their String Machine. (Which, honestly seems to be the basis of the limitations). If I can take these sound banks and put them through the three Cakewalk instruments and Alchemy program, then it becomes invaluable.

Question, I was really happy and impressed that Sonar was going to do this content club and it is still cool I guess, but I can't help but wonder... Are you guys going to release and new plug ins, or tools under this program that are used with audio? (rather than midi synths) I record conventional performances (drums, bass, guitars, vocals, horns etc.) and I know there are many others on here who do the same and honestly, I could care less for and have no desire to get another sound bank of patches, banks, loops, or synths that I will never use. A nod to the hard rock recording crowd would be nice once in a while! Thanks guys.
