To keep up with the others, the singer should have had two mic's!  LOL!

Mr. Cook, thanks for Brand X, talk about an excellent band!! Reminded me of Jeff Beck's Blow by Blow.

I've got Brand X, but haven't heard the Bonzo Dog Band before.  I'm going to guess that Pedro will like them!

He does, and so do I. The Bonzo Dog (Doo Dah) Band (to give them their full name) were a brilliant surrealist/psychedelic/comedy/trad jazz/pop/music hall band  They did expert pastiches of many styles. Here's one of their classics;

Vivian Stanshall also gave us 'Sir Henry at Rawlinson's End' which just a delight.

I would image those unfamiliar with the Bonzo Dog Band might be familiar with Neil Innes' work with Monty Python or the Rutles stuff. For something not starting with B here is Supersister
"Pudding en Gisteren"

and part one of "Spiral Staircase" (the rest is on YT)

Strawbs - Heavy Disguise. Always loved this John Ford song from Grave New World. Robert Kirby's brass arrangement is terrific! Things have not changed that much in 44 years, the lyrics are a relevant today as then.

Here is a live version from a 2006 reunion, sadly no brass - Check out John's hairstyle!!

More Strawbs - An all guitar acoustic version of the previously keyboard heavy Autumn

I have seen them in this configuration a couple of times in the past 5 years, always entertaining even if Dave Cousins voice has grown even more croaky with age. (might actually be holding up better than Dave Lambert)

Been watching these little vids of Joey Landreth playing various vintage guitars. Man, those 60 year old guitars sound wonderful.

Enjoyed this during dinner a couple of nights ago and finished it during lunch today.  It was fun watching August since he's one of my California "Hollywood" friends that I've only seen a couple of times since I moved up to the Pacific Northwest.  Once, I provided the entire backline and backup instruments (except for the drums) for a band he was in that played a casino gig up here in Washington.  I got to play roadie and make some noise during the soundcheck.  That was fun.

I thought they played it well too, shame the vid's slightly out of sync with the music.

You've probably heard their one 'hit' mate:

The reason I decided to investigate a little deeper by getting that two-disc Anthology album is that current Stranglers guitarist Baz Warne was once a member of The Toy Dolls.

Sounds like fun not-quite-punk, not-quite-newwave that many bands tried back then.  I was a little surprised that the lead guitarist was also the singer - he can sound very female when he sings!  I'm on my third song.

[Edit: Liked Deirdrie's A Slag (even if slag doesn't translate to American English).  )

No kidding!  Someone called Page up and said "Hey, checkout what DC's doing!"  So he watched the video and, reportedly, fell off his couch when the interlude with the bow came up.

Personally, I can listen to that bow interlude over and over - love it!
