If you check the original link, you can also skin it in white. Buttons are photoreal AND NO turquoise backlit L.C.D. look. It's actually quite different.

I gotta say...

The quality and the looks of Sonar's interface were a deciding factor in my choosing a DAW.
Having said that, if we're going into skinning Sonar, can we make it look like this please?

(Sorry I don't know how to link an image)

I actually don't mind Sonar's existing UI, but WOW - that looks absolutely KILLER!!  Not sure how difficult it would be to implement something similar, but I do think aesthetics matter - and some people purchase based on aesthetics to a degree.. it would be nice if something similar to this was an option in Sonar Plat.

Yes that is one of the first themes we will be shipping. TBH I think this theme looks a lot nicer than any of the other screenshots posted in this thread. Some are old school hardware themes - which is OK, but most modern UI designs these days are getting away from hardware realism.

Yeah, that Reaper theme with the white console is aesthetically very nice, but I think it would annoy me to actually work on.

That UI does look nice - I can see using that version or something along those lines.

My track-naming conventions are a little more elaborate than Andrew's, though.

I presume we will still be able to edit colours within the themes the same way we can now? i.e. adjusting track name text etc...

Very nice Andrew, I am a fan of dark. I know the trend these days is flat and non-photoreal, Apple influenced everyone when they started the flat look a while back. I didn't like the change, have you ever tried to drag the playhead on mp3 files on an iphone? The play head is a line about 2 pixels wide, BAD design choice IMHO. I still like photo-real, but I really like your dark theme. As this progresses it would be fun to have theme exchanges through the forum, I do graphic design myself and would love to play with the elements. Can't wait for the update. Any hints at when the theme thing is coming?

There are some technical details still to be worked out with theming but once thats done we should be good to go.
Probably a couple of releases away if I were to guess.

So you can actually see which fx are active in the mixers fx bins? This will save me So much time. I have been wanting to do this for a long time but I don't currently see how to modify the color of an active fx.
