Well Considering all of our other threads that are gear related get moved either one of two things will happen with this one. It'll get deleted or moved because I am posting a picture of my latest acquisitions. Guitar Center had their list sale this last weekend and it turns out that one of the new arrivals got put on the list. It is a Dean Razorback V with set in neck, Seymour-Duncan Dimebucker, locking trem and 24.75 inch (Les Paul) scale. Single tone single volume and toggle switch. I also managed to pick up a Digitech GNX3000 effects and model processor. I definitely don't like the stock tones and with the updated X-edit 2.0 software from Digitech I've been tweaking some of the effects models and Amp models for better tones (who ever designs the tones for Harmon Music Group is tone deaf). I actually bought it for it's MIDI control capability to control some of my rack gear and my JVM410H Marshall and to add some effects I didn't already have. It also has recording capability and interfaces with XP boxes just fine. It has a bit of problem with Vista even though they say it is supported (kind of working doesn't make for supported). I tried it with GTP3 and my XP machine and it works great for that program and platform. Tried it with Sonar 7 on Vista and the unit started causing problems with Sonar (lock ups, intermittent loss of signal, all kinds of neat stuff). Does the same thing with Ableton too, so my guess is the driver set is a bit weak. Any way here is the picture.

Hey Doc, that's some really nice gear there - I expect you'l be using it in GUITAR TRACKS PRO VERSION 3 a lot. As long as I keep mentioning GUITAR TRACKS PRO VERSION 3 I doubt this thread will ever get deleted, locked or moved from the GUITAR TRACKS PRO VERSION 3 FORUM because it just has to stay here because I'm using the words GUITAR TRACKS PRO VERSION 3 a lot. In fact, I'm off to the SONAR forum to use the word GUITAR TRACKS PRO VERSION 3 a lot. Maybe all the threads that I use the words GUITAR TRACKS PRO VERSION 3 a lot in will get moved here! Now, you probably think I've lost it but you never know - GUITAR TRACKS PRO VERSION 3 is a great program BTW.

I think I am pissed now, if they would like to cater more towards people like fecalpete. Oh I forgot, he's a professional musician. ORIGINAL: Doc_Hollingsworth Let's change the subject shall we ladies and gentlemen. There are much more wonderful things to talk about. Apparently if i want to talk about something you all want to change the subject and it falls upon deaf ears, but if someone else does about almost the same thing you start a new thread dedicated to them? geez.

Thanks mate - I just thought it was just crying out for some metalling up! I'm actually seriously thinking of re-recording it about another 40 - 50bpm, it feels a bit sluggish at 120bpm [same as the original]. And yes, I'm looking for someone who can really rock out on the vocals when it's finished! Cheers again James Steve

Hey, I just followed a couple threads back in to the SONAR forum and WOW! Those guys are so full of themselves they can't even answer a simple question without calling the person that asked an idiot. It's interesting how they throw around electrical engineering degrees or computer programming expertise, none of which is provable here, and expect everyone else just to bow down in the awe of it all. Now I know why I don't upgrade! I was following the thread that gnie posted in the Jessie thread here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.asp?m=895489&mpage=1&key=varispeed Here is where it gets nasty! http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.asp?m=968747

Some of the regular GT forum members [who will remain nameless to protect me, Doc and Grant] have actually posted in the SONAR forum under cover of darkness and dared to point out just how pompous and 'superior' [i.e. bloody annoying and irritating] a lot of them are. On a serious note though, the almost complete absence of threads like the one's you've highlighted in here is, in my opinion, one of the main reasons this place should be left to go its merry way... if it ain't broke... Another thing you notice about some of the SONARites [they like being called that I think] is just how few of them have got any of their own music available for others to listen to - especially strange is how many long-time members and some with massive post counts have nothing on offer for our consumption, or even links to where we might be able to buy it! One can only assume that these folk are all pros so they're not giving stuff away or that they spend so much time belittling others they haven't got any time to actually record anything. Or it's crap. Anyway, I've found a thread where I went in and stood up for GT using a particular example about how one of their regulars [the other CJ as it happens!] popped in here and rode rough-shod over a complete newb [his 1st post] and who, sadly, has never been seen since. THIS LINK takes you to my first contribution in the thread; it's interesting to follow how the thread develops if you get chance to read it - I'm afraid you can't add to it because it got locked when things took a downward turn later on!! I think your observation is a sound one Strummy. It's why as a Sonar 7 user I rarely set foot over there as there are several individuals that I find to be looking for a fight. I think these are the same individuals that in my parts would find themselves beaten to a pulp if they showed the same kind of attitude in public. It seems the anonymity of of the net contributes to bad behavior. The discussion you pointed out CJ actually does show how asinine a conversation can get when individuals try to read between the lines of the OP original post. I saw the intent and question to be rather straight forward and the OP comment about it being easier in the analog days was quite correct. Vari-speed can be achieved easier in the analog world. It's a case of people being threatened by something that either A) they are not familiar with or, B) not willing to acknowledge. It's the same menatlity that begets bigotry and genocide. Something this world can do without. You know the "if you don't believe what I am saying to be gospel, I'll hit you over the head," syndrome. thats is why I have said this little corner of the universe is rather pleasant.....

Really? Well then I have just the prescription for you, Strummy. You will need the following. An effigy of the person who irks you. A good bottle of Kentucky Bourbon A can of petrol A match book. First place the effigy in a place that is not likely to catch fire to anything else. Have a swig from the bottle of bourbon. Douse effigy with Petrol. Have another swig of bourbon. Stand well clear and take a single match from the book and light it. Use it to light the rest of the book. Have another swig of bourbon. Throw lit book of matches onto the effigy. Take another swig of bourbon and laugh loudly with a sense of mad glee and finish the bottle. Oh! And take two aspirin in the morning. You will surely need it after finishing that bottle of bourbon.

Dear Doc_Hollingsworth, I find it rather unprofessional for someone who claimes to have the best interest of his patient's best interest at heart to reccommmend a mixing of alcholhol and fire. The basic problem with your premise is that one could distinguish the difference between the bourbon and the petrol after the second swig of bourbon. Your completely wrong and unforgiveable unforgivable. You should have gotten your medical degree from Yale law school like me. I have more than 17 degrees in computer science and medical pedoligy and think I am more than qualified to condem your soul to everlasting purgatory. And have a very nice day while your at it. Spelling and grammar errors left in to immulate certain SONARites looking to impress his/her secret crush.

You'll see the picture so much more clearly by the time you hit the bottom of that bottle. Now I must point out though that I did say Bourbon. Not shine. You see if I would have recommended shine our dear friend strummy would not only have something to drink and start a fire with, he would have also been reduced to the mental capacity of a piss ant. Then he would have a case of permanent drool. As for my soul. Would you like to play dueling guitars?
