I'm having a very off day. I really shouldn't bew in front of a computer at all. I have one of those horrible migraines again and the medication did nothing to help at this point. And I am thinking that a kegger right now would put me over the top and I'd put away in the psych ward for the gibberish that seems to be coming out of my mouth about now. Excuse me while I retire.

Steve, As the Godfather, I suppose I need to make you an offer you can't refuse. The climate here in Colorado is prime for storing guitars, amps, and assorted hardware. I would be glad to take care of any such instruments. My assistant, Tony, should be along any time now to "assist" with the transaction. btw, Tony and myself have no knowledge of how the asorted kegs of miscelaneous beverages have managed to accumilate in our warehouse.

Ahh, this would explain a few things that have been going on round here. I thought I was just getting a bit paranoid but I guess it is a bit unusual to wake up next to a severed horse's head every so often. As to Tony [my next door neighbour as it happens], he does seem to be making an awful lot of money from the new glue making business in his back garden. I think I'd prefer an offer I can't understand in future Bob, and give that crazed hit-man Doc 'The Doc' Doc his booze back, he does get a bit tetchy about it you know. If for any unforeseen reason you should not have my Guinness, I'll be forced to take it out of Strummy's hide as he'll being owing me 8 kegs (interest, inflation and all you know). Please make sure the 4 kegs are cold and frosty. Thanks for your help and co-operation.

Doc, The Antress stuff has been added too and updated, not sure if you know about it. ANTRESS I downloaded most of the plugs yesterday and they seem very cool. And for everyone else, I can hit targets at 300 meters with most rifles and am an expert with a 9mm or 10mm handgun. I prefer the 10mm, bigger holes. I also happen to live on a fortified installation so forget all about your possies and horse heads. Oh, and most of my next door neighbors looks like this:

But how do you handle a 45-70 Winchester? Oh by the way I can't miss with a scatter gun at pistol distances and am pretty handy with a Winchester lever action 94. As for handguns. I still like my trusty P14-45. If you can't be as accurate you can always fill 'em with more holes, I say! .45 caliber variety of course.

Hi CJ I've had the Modern series for a while and some are very good indeed. I know they disappeared off the radar for a while but it's good to see the link is back up - the only one I missed is the Illusioniser so I just added it and it's a great bit of kit, very easy to use and to understand! I will have to play around with it and see just what it can do. Doc - stop being so miserable, you don't have to use them all at once! That would be just greedy.

Well, I'm in the middle of remixing an older song. Since I decided to give Reaper a try and I have all these plug ins to play with, I'm having a bit of fun in the evenings messing about with it all. I have my old tracks transfered from 44.1/16 to 48/24 and am going to retrack vocals, bass and some more guitar, you can never have enough guitar you know. The Pushtec plug Doc had up on the usefull software thread and now the Antress Neve rip offs are giving me some serious tone tools. I spent the evening getting the drums to sound pretty darn good considering they were recorded in a living room. What fun this is!! I was trying to get my remix up before this weekend because I'm headed back to the states for a conference and then some R&R and I won't get a chance to play with it again for a few weeks. Anyway, Thanks Doc for turning me on to the Antress stuff in the first place as well as those other plugs. Steve, I was messing around with your "I should Be So Lucky" and may try and do a vocal take for it. If I do, I'll send you the .wav and you can put it in the recycle bin if you want.

This old scrooge, greedy? Look here mate, I'll have a tell for you! When I was young we didn't have much in the way to afford all those nice English Neve equalizers, boards and preamps. All we had was enough for a portable cassett recorder that could only record in mono. And our studio was a hole in the road with a cardboard roof. And we had to hold Timmy up to cover it while the 20 of us kids had to make sounds like guitars, drums, bass and such to even record anything. And all we had was this cheap (I mean rather expensive for us) electrolet microphone to pick it all up. And if we screwed up a part of the song the studio engineer (my uncle Mort) would beat us about the head and neck with barbed wire. And you call me greedy! I was just saying I needed to get rid of a few. Would you like some?

Very well. I never had a problem with Sonar 6 upon which SHS6 is based. It comes with a good suite of plug-ins itself and includes the Sonitus:FX EQ which is pretty good on it's own. I have a few friends using other DAWs that swear by the Sonitus stuff. Actually I use the suite pretty much regularly.

Well I have to admit that I'm not much of a gun expert but I do enjoy firing the current issue M9. I don't much care for the M16 but that has more to do with the fact that I hate cleaning the stupid thing. So far my favorite is the M60 7.62. I used to use those in the Blackhawk, aerial gun ranges are kind of fun. As far as recreational shooting I really like .22 target guns. They're cheap and you can let loose a huge number of rounds into a really tight shot group. That's pretty much the extent of my gun knowledge but I really do qualify expert every time. Back to DAWs, has anyone here used the UAD1?

UAD1? I know a few guys over in the Sonar PE forum have them. It's on that list of like to haves for me. But I think a new DAW specific PC is going to take precedence.

Doc, The reason I asked about the UAD was because I would like to know if the Antress version of Neve plugs is anywhere in the same ballpark as the UAD versions. Really just looking for a comparison. The TARDIS should have a commode considering it's big enough to have two control rooms.
