Mesh I was impressed as well and enjoyed listening. Excellent mix/vocals/guitar and everything in between. I also enjoyed listening to Seven.....not an easy one to cover. Well done Robbie!!
Thanks so much for the listen and comments, and for listening to more than 1! :-)

DarinBad Darned fine job Robby! This is probably my favorite rendition of this song to date. Dang... How'd you do that..? Absolutely impressed. Fine voice, as usual. Much impressed. Oh... Did I mention I was impressed?
Darin you're too kind! Thanks, I worked on it for a bit... Mostly the drums? I hate the drums because everything else comes pretty easy (except the mixing) Thanks for listening and your generous comments.

Bob Oister Hey, Robby, Killer job on this dynamite cover! Great guitar work, excellent vocals as always, and the current mix sounds balanced, loud and clear. I saw John Fogerty do this one live a few years back at a State Fair venue, and he still puts on a great show. Really nice job, bro! Bob
Big bad Bob! Yeah CCR is one of my "hero bands..." I really love the old stuff. I never saw them? I envy you for that. I'm so glad you liked it :-)

Just great, Robby. The drums sounds perfect, all vintage-mixed and jangly.

I was proud that some folks like the guitar sounds :-) There are many guitar tracks, mostly the electric (PRS shown below) through my line 6, set on "brit clean?" With an out to that little Roland cube to give some resonance through the body/strings. And then in to the UA 610 pre with a little squeeze, and then the fireface. I think I added a little verb to it in the box too and some EQ. Then there was the acoustic 6, recorded M/S, I bused it and used the PSP warmer with the clean guitar setting (my favorite.) Panned things as appropriate and sent to an all guitars bus and then to the mains. The more I do this, the more busing I seem to do. I practiced for a couple of days to get my chops up to speed :-) Not a shreader, but I do like to strum and play the easy leads.

I am only "a guitar player..." (I'd like to be "the?" but I'm only a...) :-) You'll hear it in this toon, and pretty much all of the others too. It's a great instrument. But it must be "played." It's a trick vs. many other tracks, you have to play it in? You can't snap it to a grid (you can but it f's it up...) you can't do many things you can with so many other tools we have at our disposal, you have to grab that thing by the neck "and choke it!" You bang on it with the other hand (it's a pretty violent process actually?) I'm actually probably a better bass player these days, and perhaps a better keyboard player :-) But I'm not "the bass player?" or "the keyboard player?" But the guitar was my 1st instrument... And we don't forget our 1st true love.

I would like for each of my tunes to be as well recorded/produced as is this one :-) I really like it. I have ideas for the next 3... :-) Usually my **** sucks, but I got lucky here. I hope to do so again...

Hey Robbie. I've been thinking of doing a cover song as well, but I'm unfamiliar with the way licensing works these days for streaming use. Do you know if I need to go to Harry Fox Agency or something? What kind of license do I need and how much does it cost if I'm not planning to sell it at all, just stream it for you folks here on the boards? I hope this isn't an inappropriate question. ;)

Just don't put it up for sale, or download and you should be OK ;-) People don't typically care about someone who covers a tune as long as you're not selling it or even allowing free downloads, then you need to pay-up. If you send me 20 bux, I will allow you to cover one of mine :-)

Here Hear! ====================== Working on a new one that's very popular now, "Imagine Dragons?" The song is called "Radioactive." I'm doing it because my son really likes it. It's out of my wheelhouse? But it's a pretty cool tune, so I'm going to cover it, and the boy (he's 10?) is going to be the lead singer :-)

Really well done. It's tough to pull off a "live" feel when you do it all yourself but you pulled it off nicely. Great guitar work and tone, liked it. Vocals are well done too, hell, it's all good! Enjoyed this, took me back to a fondly remembered time... Thanks.

I used to think that the only CCR song I liked was "Born on the Bayou". Then I recently acquired a CCR retrospective and found that I like a lot more of their songs than I thought. Including this one. Great job on the cover Robby. Love your voice! Regards, Dan

Ha! Thanks Danno... I'm a singer from 1st grade :-) I've recently tried to get back in shape, down from 220 to 185 :-D And it's helped my singing (and everything else) I can't stress enough how strongly I believe "men" (women too) but men in particular? How much I believe we need to lean out... "Be lean... Be strong..." It doesn't matter how old you are? I just turned 55 and I'm "a bad mofo..." better shape than I've been in for >10 years. And it helps as a singer? Because you walk around with your instrument... You carry it. To be a vital singer, "you have to be healthy..." Or at least not far from it. I'm up to 2 miles on by run, and 20 push-ups a set :-) And about 10 good pull-ups :-D I'm not a "BAD man" anymore? But I'm still a "Bad Man..." A few more years at it. I believe when a man loses the right "to be feared." That he loses part of being a man. I can still strike fear in to people... A few more years anyway? Then it's all about my sensitive side... But for now? FEAR ME!! (flexes) I'm still a bad little man at 185/190... I can still make a believer out of you ;-) But the heavy bag doesn't punch back ;-) (I beat the **** out of it though...)
