Ozone 6 is out.
I posted this once before with a link, but it must have been filtered. Anyway...Dynamic EQ is for advanced only and it doesn't have the reverb. The rest looks pretty good. The standalone feature being able to load many wav files looks to equal T-racks. I must admit to being a little disappointed. The gui is beautiful but without the dynamic eq it seems to lose some of it's luster. (this is where a link would be nice)

That's too bad. The dynamic EQ was the main selling point. But it's also good, because scratching Ozone 6 off the list narrows the field for what to spend that hundred bucks on that's burning a hole in my piggy bank.

Hey, what's up with all the automatic spam deletions? Something's amiss here... [EDIT] OK, here's the deal...the forum software sees a post that only contains a link, or only contains one word, e.g. "dupe", as spam, and will automatically delete it. I have restored the non-dupe deleted posts above.Apologies to backwoods and Eddie TX. If you ever see one of your posts incorrectly deleted as spam, let me or one of the other forum hosts know and we can restore it.

Forum software's flakey. Link posting has been sporadically prevented recently. Anyway, it's weird that Ozone dropped the reverb module. I kinda liked it. The new GUI looks good, though. I've seen one report of increased CPU usage ... haven't tried it myself yet. Would be nice if iZotope stuff wasn't so resource-hungry. Looking forward to some reviews! Cheers, Eddie

I just tried to quote Eddie TX (with the link in my original post) and it got filtered too. I must have been banned. It's not a big deal...I hate spam so the filters are worth it.

My thoughts exactly...Gas suddenly gone. I have plenty of verbs, but the EQ was going to have me thinking about it.

Every version of Ozone, from ver. 2 onward, has been a bigger CPU hog than the one before it. Sort of a variation on Moore's Law, I suppose: every 18 months iZotope requires you to buy a faster CPU.

That's how you know you get your monies worth. Otherwise you might think the old EQ was just as good as the new EQ.

What's the deal with the dynamic EQ? It doesn't seem to have a ratio adjustment???

Many dynamic equalizers have a Range control rather than a ratio. Pro-MB works that way, as does the Waves C4/C6. I imagine Ozone's taking this approach.

Hello All, My two cents.... The Dynamics Module lost the Expander/Gate. Reverb module is gone. CPU use is through the roof compared to Ozone 5 (verified purchaser comment). Even though all of the demos showed Ozone 6 (not Advanced from what I saw) No Dynamic Equalizer for Standard 6. Is this the new "un-upgrade"? Like grocery stores they give you a smaller package and charge the same or more. What are standard 6 users gaining? Oh yeah.... The GUI looks great... So far ... Not this go around for me.. But I will keep reading the reviews.

Well, I got Ozone 5 a couple of weeks ago and think it's an improvement over 4. But I'm not as jazzed now as I was about 6. No Dynamic EQ in Basic? Bummer.

Jimbo, you should at least trial Advanced as it is very cool. Having "Insight" on a second monitor is very useful. You can just switch out and off effects and tracks and see what is going on in your mix in real time. It looks great too. You also get the option to use the effects separately. I think you basic version guys can upgrade to advanced for 399 at the moment whereas for guys like me who have advanced 5 it will still cost 299. Maybe AudioDeluxe will be doing better deals during the grace period (till nov13). Personally I never used the reverb so I won't be missing it if I choose to upgrade. .....and ccLarry......welcome back, good to see u again :)

Bummer... the dynamic EQ was the big wow factor for me. I wasn't planning to upgrade until a sale anyway, but it's likely I'll pass on this one since I'm OK with green.

I am a little underwhelmed. It looks nice but I don't see much in it that is really all that much better from Ozone 4 or 5. I do think it will do what its supposed to do rather well but as an upgrade, I don't know. Perhaps given a little more time I will look more kindly on it.

I am a bit baffled about a lot with Ozone 6... so much makes little sense now. I guess the coming months will reveal a better picture, but right now I would need a whole box of Raisin Bran to get any GAS back.

I get Ozone 6 free and I probably wont be using it. the reverb wasn't a huge feature in 5 for me but I use it and like that it is there. the dynamic EQ I thought was really cool and was looking forward to this new feature. I am not paying that much for advanced to get that feature. big bummer. I was kinda looking forward to Ozone 6, not so much now.

The general consensus, here and elsewhere, is a big yawn for Ozone 6. Apparently, it's not just the reverb module that's been taken out; it sounds like the earlier limiter algorithms have also been removed. I haven't confirmed that, but it would be a deal-killer if true. Somebody said the gain-reduction histogram is also gone - that would certainly be a deal-killer as well.

I see it now has a facility that you can insert your own VSTs into its signal flow. Just as well... btw I bought v5 with the promise of a free v6 (dynamic eq being the carrot) but I'm buggered if I'm forking out the extra for advanced version.
