PSYN II / Pentagon not working after 6.2?

Going through some tests with 6.2 tonight and finding PSYN II and Pentagon I no longer operational. PSYN interface comes up, and although Presets are listed, none will actually load. Pentagon I reports that it may be installed incorrectly and won't load at all. All other Cakewalk DXi synths from Program Files/Cakewalk/Shared DXi work fine. Anyone else come across this? Any fix besides reinstalling?

Thanks much!

I just checked here and all is fine with both of these. Running 64 bit Sonar.

Thanks for taking a look. I ended up reinstalling just those 2 DXis from the Version 6 DVD. All is working fine now --whew!--

I too have had "issues" with 6.2 update. PSYN II seems fine, but the Pentagon I is sick & wrong; so far 4 random voices (like Closed Triangle, for example) have glitched horribly, causing a HUGE SNAP sound, meters to peg at +99.5db, and requiring synth shut-down (had to click off audio engine to stop meters). I thought it was going to melt down my system!! I've given up trying to explore it. Besides, the Pentagon patches I've heard so far sound like it's the first synth ever invented...very disappointing. I'm probably missing something. It also did same before the update, but I had to have my new Sonica D945 factory repaired, and do a clean install of everything! My 16 year old Ensoniq VFX-sd keyboard (a true legend) kicks ass sound-quality-wise (especially compared to the Pentagon), & I have a huge & variable library for it.

INSTALLING THE 6.2 UPDATE: In XPx64 (and probably Vista), I believe it's a must to hold the Shift key while first starting up Sonar after installing the update. I did, but have also encountered a metronome glitch. Even though not activated, metro MUST be set to MIDI NOTE, NOT AUDIO when I'm playing a midi track (drums) thru any synth...both Session Drummer 2 and the TTS-1 in this case. If set to audio, the 3rd pass (only) in looped playback would always be fraught with crappy sound/clicks. Weird, huh? I haven't explored the metro further for other problems mentioned in these forums, tho'. Hope I don't find them. I'm "glitched out" right now.

Loop recording (and subsequent PianoRoll editing) midi drums did a strange thing: the Clip only shows the hi-hat notes, but PRV & all other views show ALL notes, AND the clip plays ALL instruments. Using the Bounce to Clip command (a CW tech instruction) didn't make all notes show up...but the worst of it is, only the hi-hat gets copied after turning into a Groove Clip & then trying to drag-stretch-copy or Cntl-copy. It looks as though I'll have to start from scratch. If only I could copy/paste from PRV, instead of clip view only. Any suggestions, friends???

Anyway, these are just some of the PAIN IN THE BUTT items I'm currently dealing with...I'd be interested in knowing about any fixes I must've missed in scouring the forums before I wrote this at 2:33pm PST on 2/10/07.

    Thanks Everyone!
