has to do with "authentic" reproduction of an instrument sound when you retrigger/rekey notes BTW KVR is wetting all over themselves in the instrument forum about the release

Round robin may work with the New ST3 sounds but won't mean anything for the existing sounds. Readable gui, 64 bit native, and Cost is the deciding factor for me. My guess is that it will be shown at NAMM but won't be available till later...

All kidding aside, it has to be better than its almost decade old predecessor. It would be hard not to. I wouldn't mind being able to play my old sounds. That's about it. Going forward, I'd rather invest in Kontakt which has been continually improved and supported and Halion.

Let's face it Obi, there's a hell of a lot of ground ST3 needs to make up...rubbish GUI and middle-of-the-road sounds (not helped by bad presets) against almost constant improvement by the competition..I mean even Dim Pro has been updated FFS!

I seriously hope IK delivers an incredible product. They NEED to...
after all the iCrap I've given them...it would just be beginning if ST3 were
a dud.....IJS....
Fog, it better be like their iApps...$9.99 or less....because that's what it's going to take to sell it.
With all the far better supported products out there....they better GIVE IT AWAY in hopes of
getting some of those customers back..
We'll see how strong willed everyone is after it comes out...because I know (myself included) how weak
those of us with PCD are...

I will just wait till st3 is offered at some ridiculous 3 for 1 90 percent off offer down the road ...assuming it doesn't fly out the door when its released ... re round robin Kontakt been doing that with its powerful Skripting software for a while even 3rd parties incorporate round robin

You have to first catch up before you can pull ahead. Catching up is first.
Not many players out there in this particular game. FWIW Sampletank seems to come prepackaged with a lot more material than the factory version of Kontakt minus third party samples. Kontakt won't run on an iPad but I suspect ST3 will. The basic instruments are all there in both. The sound quality seems negligible depending on the sounds we are comparing. Hopefully the sounds will also have improved, not that they were bad before. The big advantage is larger memory capability in 64bit. More sounds larger projects before a hiccup might just put it close to Kontakt, really close.

Star...not to be pedantic...but... Kontakt Independence Alchemy Aria Mach 5 Dimension Pro Shoud I go on? Seriously...not many players in the game? And all of the above have had updates and upgrades far more often the ST could possibly dream of...and have been 64 bit for a bit... ST for iOS has been out for a while...and it will surely get an update as soon as ST 3 is released.. They update the iCrap every other week or so....while the PC stuff gets blown off regularly in it's favor. And Kontakt has FAR FAR FAR MORE available sounds, both Native and 3rd Party...probably then ANY sampler out there...add in the Infinity Player and the number AGAIN goes up... I wholeheartedly beg to differ...
