Thanks for the heads up Andrew!  I will be re-upping today.  Gosh at $99 for twelve months, that works out to $8.25 per month or two bucks per week.  That's the price of a brewed cup of coffee. What a bargain.

Thanks to all at Cakewalk.  I guess I need to find a mug @ café express.

And away we go!

I should also mention, you don't need to have your membership expiring to renew. If you want to lock in another year at the special price, you can do it today and it will add one year to your current end date. So for example, if you were ending on June 1, 2016 and you purchased today, your new end date would be June 2, 2017.

Actually, when I went to renew, it sent me to paypal to "pay".  So now in my account, I have a payment made on 12-28, (effectively my last for last years subscription since I started 1-28-15) instead of "tacking it on" to the erst-wise 1-28-16 natural expiration date.

I assumed this post meant that the regularly scheduled monthly payments to cleverbridge would just continue.  I had a tough time getting it set up for them to reoccur when I subscribed and I don't want to go back down that road if possible and while I know it is only 20 days until it naturally ends, I HAVE already paid to the 28th.

I am thinking I will wait till 1-20 something to renew since it is not working as advertised.

If you went and bought an annual right now, you will not lose any days. I will tack a year on to your end date. So you don't need to wait or you can if you want.

Actually, I went and re-upped for the monthly and it wanted to charge me 14.95 right then even though I still have an active month till the 28th of Jan...

If you are on monthly, it will charge you $14.99/mo after your 12th payment. No need to do anything.

I am still confused about how everything works when Steam is involved.

My expiry is: 1/22/2016
When I check my cakewalk account - the deal I got via Steam at Xmas says it expires: 12/23/2016

When I open Sonar via Steam and check the expiry it still shows 1/22/2016.

Will the date automatically update when it gets to the 22nd?

I just want to know that my subscription won't drop.

The way STEAM reports dates back to our end and the 'Membership' end date in SONAR may not always be accurate or reflect the same thing direct customers see. We're looking at changing some of this messaging soon to clear up confusion.

There's no more subscriptions on STEAM. Everyone is on annual release branches right now, so there will be no drop of service or updates at this time or the near future. We'll be posting more information on renewals for Steam customers soon. In the meantime you'll continue to receive updates.

Best Regards,
Seth

How soon should I expect a renewal to be reflected in the "About dialog?" I bought another year's of platinum on 1/9, and it's still not reflected today 1/11.

I can open a ticket, if that's necessary, so just curious at this point.

EDIT: I should have mentioned, that when I log into the web account, and click on the purchase, it clearly shows that 1 year plus two weeks has been added to my account. I did not realize that I could see subscription status on the web and that it could be out of sync with Sonar.exe.

We are fixing that in the About Screen for the next update. In the meantime, your My Account page should reflect the accurate date. Please let me know if you see it there.

So, if I understand this correct then, if I am on the monthly plan currently for Platnum, I don't have to do anything, but let it continue? Looks like my one year is up 1/31/2016.

That's correct. It will auto-renew until you decide to cancel. As long as you keep paying you'll also keep everything you receive after 12 consecutive payments (which you've done). We have a lot of cool stuff coming for the spring so stay tuned for some more info this week.

...
Pricing has changed a little based on what we posted last year. The one-time renewal for a SONAR Platinum Rolling Upgrade is now $149 or $14.99/mo. However, now through March 31st, we'll be running a special where customers can purchase it for $99. All other pricing for SONAR Artist and Professional remain the same.
...
Thanks for your patience. More exciting information to come next week. And of course we appreciate all the interest and your loyalty over the past years. 2016 is going to be another great year!

That worked easy peasy. What an easy way to convert from monthly to annual!

¡Muchas gracias!

Having cancelled my monthly subscription and opting for the yearly this time around, do I need to contact support to link my previous 12 month payments with my new yearly? So far it hasn't shown up in my products page or my 'about' page.

What does it say for your membership end date on your My Account Page? The about screen is not accurate, fix coming soon.

Be advised: Any who need to request a partial refund because of purchasing a bit too early will need to contact CleverBridge support not Cakewalk customer support. If you are able to use phone support for this it will be quicker. I am however in an area where reliable phone communication internationally is both expensive and usually does not work and the internet phone is equally unreliable.

I have contacted Cleverbridge through the support link on my invoice email and hopefully this will work.

I am posting this since I am in the middle of this rodeo currently and perhaps this will help someone else in  a similar situation.

I renewed at the $99 rate a few weeks back. My expiration date is Feb 2017.   I got an email from Cake today:
Reminder: Renew your SONAR Rolling Update Plan

Renew your SONAR Platinum Rolling Updates Membership for a one-time fee of $99 ($50 off the regular renewal rate). This gives you an additional year of updates based on your current membership end date, giving you even more exciting features, enhancements, and exclusive content.
Even if your membership is still active, there’s no need to wait -- you can still renew your Rolling Updates Membership today and lock in this special price for an additional year of Rolling Updates.

So I followed the link and it seems more than willing to let me add another year which is out to 2018.  This works for me just fine but I wanted to check that  this is ok and not a gliche of some type.

The mail went out to everyone. According to the product info page at the store

Upgrades/renewals are limited to one per registered customer per year.

I've had similar issues with a membership option change. I took up the discounted yearly membership, having previously paid 11 months of monthly membership for SONAR Platinum. "Not very" Cleverbridge took my payment but then sent me a demand for another monthly payment. I paid it as they threatened to cancel my membership, but I emailed them explaining the situation. They refunded the monthly payment and confirmed I had a yearly membership paid up to January 2017.
Then the Newburyport Update becomes available, but I can't access it. I check my account and it states I have no membership.
I contact Not at all Cleverbridge who essentially tell me to go away as this is a technical product issue and I should go to Cakewalk. I'm betting their cancellation action is the cause of this.
I emailed Cakewalk support over 24 hours ago and have had nothing but an automated response.
Checking my account, it now doesn't even show SONAR Platinum as a registered product.
I've been a Cakewalk customer for over 10 years and am being treat extremely poorly.
I have attempted to register the product again but am told it is registered to some else and to contact support.
What's the point when they don't respond?

It's now Saturday morning in the UK, and still no reply from Cakewalk Support. I STILL have no membership showing, nor have Sonar Platinum showing in my products despite having it installed and running for a year. As it's now the weekend I shall no doubt have to wait until Monday before recommencing the futile hope that someone at Cakewalk may deem me worthy of replying to. I can only hope that these issues do not disrupt smooth running of the software, and therefore cause me loss of earnings.
It's heartening to read in this thread how members opinions of Cakewalk has improved since the discount offer.
Mine had too.
It is fading.
Taking money for something and then not supplying it is theft, isn't it?
My current mood is that Cakewalk's Support is a joke.
If I hadn't already poured so much money into their coffers I'd move to a competitor. May be I should do that in any case?

Don't get disheartened,  us Hosts are only here because Cakewalk staff are to busy to spend as much time in the forums as they'd like, and that includes customer support staff.
Unfortunately, we don't have the tools or access to be able to directly help with account issues like yours, we can only send PMs to Bakers to alert them of problems we can't solve.

It's also important to separate Cleverbridge from Cakewalk Customer Support.   Cleverbridge are a payment processing company,  it looks in this case like they managed to totally delete Sonar from your account, rather than simply cancelling the monthly payment requirement.  It has happened to a couple of other folk and is easily fixed by Cakewalk Customer Support.

I'll send a PM to alert the Bakers, but in the meantime the license on your existing installed Sonar should keep going so you shouldn't loose out.

I appreciate your empathy & efforts to assist me Karyn. I do appreciate the different roles the Cakewalk Support and Cleverbridge play, but as you say, it is the latter who I suspect have caused this foul-up; which is even more shameful if they've done it before. I shall await developments tomorrow.
Thanks again.

Thank you for your attention Dean, all now appears back to normal.
I continue to believe that some of your procedures are in dire need of review, but thank you all the same.
Also thanks again to Karyn, with who's intervention, I suspect I would have still been waiting.

Exact same thing here. Guess my purchase of ProTools will turn out to be my saving grace since I can't use Cakewalk to finish a project that is coming due.

Time to contact the lawyer again and get him online to sue these fly by nights.

I had a look at the renewal price last week for upgrading from X3 Producer to X3 Platinum one time purchase and it was 94 GBP. I thought about it and decided that I would upgrade today but I now find that it is 118 GBP.

Is there any reason for the increase?

Thanks
