There are a load of serious Z3TA+2 issues that haven't been fixed for two years (we are still awaiting a service pack). I notice there is a stuck note issue in Z3TA+2, so I wonder if it's the same code that is the problem? [SPECULATION] It looks like Rapture Pro borrowed a lot of code from other projects and in turn inherited the same bugs. I stress 100% speculation so ignore this. [/SPECULATION] Regardless I'm glad Cakewalk are fixing Rapture Pro, I hope once it is done Z3TA+2 finally gets its issues resolved, it's time Cakewalk made a statement about that synth as well, those issues have been ignored for far too long and it's still for sale. My view is clear the pain now, and perhaps by next year trust will have resumed with their synth plugin operation, just like they are doing very successfully right now with Sonar (that product is improving dramatically). Dean add (REMOVED) on skype i will give you a detailed experience of the issue i am facing in Reaper including audio loopback over skype - Im am extremely enthused by your response via e-mail and would like to help you. The issue FL studio and Reaper users are facing is stuck notes in loop mode. It must be the same code issue in both DAW's. I can deal with the poor performance loadups but i can work with stuck notes. The only way to turn the note off is to make the plugin offline and or un-insert it. I found another issue with Pro when used in Reaper which completely screws up the project your working on. It interupts playback control an d transport features.

jih64 I got Muz3um working ... copied them to ... As has been posted before ... you can just 'link/junction' them if you don't want to maintain duplicates ... as per http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3214357 ...
cmd.exe cd C:\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Sample Data\Rapture Pro\Multisamples mklink /J "Digital Sound Factory Volume 3" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common \Cakewalk\x64\Dimension Pro\Multisamples\Digital Sound Factory Volume 3"
Keep in mind - these are my files as an example. Understand what you are doing before actioning 'hacks'.
I've currently done this with 12 of my legacy packs NOTE though: a junction is just a pointer, so any 'action' will affect the source multisamples. You can 'delete' the junction and it won't delete the files from the original location. But if you 'move' the junction it will also move the original subfolders/files.
cmd.exe C:\>mklink ? The syntax of the command is incorrect. Creates a symbolic link.
MKLINK [[/D] | [/H] | [/J]] Link Target
/D Creates a directory symbolic link. Default is a file symbolic link. /H Creates a hard link instead of a symbolic link. /J Creates a Directory Junction. Link specifies the new symbolic link name. Target specifies the path (relative or absolute) that the new link refers to.
Thanks for that, I am fine with copying them as I did, they don't take up much space and I don't have a shortage of space. I have copied your info above and filed it away for future reference if needed. Thanks

Im still in demo mode. After a number of communications offline the end result was the solution for me to enter my password correctly, or use disk utility to fix privileges or reinstall my OS. My macbook pro is new , i enter my password correct , i log onto CC3 correct , i install everything correct and I have many other company plugins installed and working correct - IK multimedia, waves, native instruments, ableton etc etc all requiring authorisation. Im not going to reinstall my OS for this piece of **** called cakewalk which currently rapture , rapture pro and Ca-2a doesn't work on macs for and ZA just started to work until that decide to void this with their **** authorisation system. My advice to them is delete my posts , delete my account, and I'll delete everything off my computer and cakewalk can forever get F'd Good bye

Well, I guess that would suck, is it the same for all Mac users ? if it's not, well it just might be there is something on your side ?, but reinstalling your OS seems a bit much, I'd definitely think twice about that, and shake my head and move on also :) I have moved on from Rapture Pro myself, uninstalled it and just wrote it off, and my problems were certainly nothing compared to yours. This is how I solved my Rapture Pro issues , although in the end the only thing that was a problem was the Galbanum Piscis pack, and the volume discrepancies and some Factory Rapture Pro patches either not sounding at all or being that low in volume that they were barely audible. [edit] oh, and some that surely mustn't be working as designed, ie maybe some of the elements not working or right, I mean it wasn't a case of something just sounding bad or not to your liking, more like 'no one in there right mind would create something like this' and as if you could hear there was something else that was supposed to be going on, but it just wasn't happening kind of thing In the end I just wasn't really happy with the state it was in when released, and the fact that you had to do leg work to get things working, and in the end going 2 months from release it still doesn't, to bad, I was really looking forward to Rapture Pro. None of my other synths have these problems, they all just work beautifully. Having to do the dance to get things working how they should felt a bit like using Linux, and I don't ever want to do that again, I just like things to work as they should, out of the box, my days of spending/wasting time trying to get something to work as it should are well and truly over. I still have, and can and do use Rapture and Dimension Pro and Z3TA2 and all my expansion packs, all of which I love and work fine, so . . . Very happy with my other 3rd party Synths, and can't wait for Omni2 to get here. Oh, I think " and cakewalk can forever get F'd" might be a little harsh and over the top, probably could have left that bit out. Anyway, all the best to you.

I totally sympathise with the Mac user.
I would argue though we should have seen a lot more complaints about registration here if it was commonplace.

It's definitely getting better as the updates roll out. It may be a minor point for some, but I do find it handy not to have to bounce back and forth between Dimension Pro and Rapture, but more importantly, that the Dim Pro patches now have the same kind of flexibility as Rapture patches. I hope to get the time to try it with MIDI guitar...

It still breaks every time I switch octaves on my MIDI keyboard, and I have already reported the bug. It still isn't fixed, and it still isn't fit for purpose considering how often I need to switch octaves. Why a VST breaks when it receives SysEx messages I do not know. It shouldn't respond to SysEx AT ALL, let alone cease to work It seems to recognize it's a MIDI message, but doesn't seem to know what to do with it, otherwise it would just crash outright instead of refusing to make any sound at all. In addition, instead of silently failing to load samples and not tell me about it, why not give us the option of asking where the samples are like just about every other sample-based synth?

I agree that there is no attempt being made to fix issues. I am one of those who got an "out of system resources" error trying to install Rapture Pro. Well, I downloaded the new version (made sure I had already deleted the old downloaded files) and the problem is still there. So I can't even install it to watch it fail. :) Perhaps they are preparing to go out of business and that's why they don't bother fixing things? I've been patient, but enough is enough!

I tried that. It "seems" to complete. But then the sound packs won't install. Ignoring a message like that is not good computing practices, and indicates at minimum a problem that will appear down the road - like maybe the sounds packs? Or the issues people mention above? You installed it - did you also install all the sounds packs successfully? Does everything work?

The expansion packs have separate installers which did not throw any errors for me. All of RPro installed completely as best I can tell. That said my total RPro environment contains over 15000 programs including DPro, Rapture, 3rd party and my own creations. I will probably never test all the programs. Don't really care to do it. The only expansion pack which I know has problems is not part of the standard RPro install, it is Galbanum Piscis. It appears to have some path issues which are unique to the package.

I have noticed that the recent Rapture Pro update 2.00.01.509 is still extremely slow to load in Reaper 4.78 x64. Rapture Pro is a little faster to reload if I close it and then open it again, but certainly not as quick as it should be compared with other soft synths either on initial load or reload. Hope the bakers will keep working on this issue.

Rapture Pro still takes forever to load, if it loads at all. Every other vsti loads instantly, but the last time I tried to use Rapture Pro, it never did load until I ran the stand alone version as administrator, and only then could I load it in Splat, and it still took almost 5 minutes to load. I like the instrument, but at this point it's not practical to use.

Really worried at this point. I'm wondering if RP has just been dumped like the other plugins (such as Z3TA+2) after one service pack. We aren't getting much communication regardless. I'm now have two buggy Cakewalk plugins that Cakewalk still sells, which will only work wellish with Sonar, although they are riddled with issues from my perspective.
