Its not useable on mac because it stays in demo mode and I do have a license. It does not authorise through CC no matter what Ive tried for a month and thats contacting support as well. I'll keep Rapture Pro with CA-2A - trashed . Both voided due to protection smarts that f's the product for valid customers. This all relates to mac. I give up on it.

Did you uninstall the libraries first or just reinstall them?

Yes. I went through everything and uninstalled and re-installed. It sounds silly.

Cakewalk Support
To completely remove Rapture Pro from your computer and reinstall it, follow the steps below:Run the Rapture Pro uninstaller. This is normally done from the Cakewalk Command Center. Open the Command Center, right-click on Rapture Pro and select Uninstall. If Command Center is not installed, Rapture Pro can be uninstalled from the Control Panel in Windows under Programs and Features. After the uninstall completes, open the Run Prompt by holding down the “Windows” key and pressing “R” on the keyboard. At the Prompt, type regedit and click [OK].Click [Yes] if asked to allow the program to make changes to your computer.**Important: When accessing the Registry Editor, create a backup by going to File | Export. In the Export Registry File window that appears, verify the “Export range” is set to “All” and “Save as type” is set to “Registration Files (*.reg)”. It is important to create a backup of the registry- there is no undo function if an incorrect value is deleted. Any changes made can be reversed by simply double-clicking the backup .reg file to import your previous settings. If this is required, re-import your backup prior to restarting your computer.

After backing up your Registry, delete the following registry key. Delete the last folder in the chain of these keys by right-clicking on it and selecting "delete".For 64-bit installations of Rapture Pro:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Rapture Pro

For 32-bit installations of Rapture Pro:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\wow6432Node\Cakewalk Music Software\Rapture ProNext, highlight the following folder in the Registry Editor:For 64-bit installations:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cakewalk Music SoftwareFor 32-bit installations:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\wow6432Node\Cakewalk Music SoftwareIn the right-hand pane, right-click the value SampleDataDir and choose delete.

At this point you can reinstall Rapture Pro from the Cakewalk Command Center (recommended), or by downloading the installer(s) from your Cakewalk Account. This should eliminate any software irregularities that are causing your problem. If you continue to run into issues after following the steps above, please let me know.

I manually uninstalled every component as well and re-installed. This made a big difference for me.

I'll give this a try. Thanks again.

Re: Rapture Pro 2.0.1 Update Released 2015/06/06 21:28:52 (permalink)
One of the fixes I noticed...

"Rapture Pro installer now receives custom VST paths from Cakewalk Command Center"

It didn't work for me...!

I notice after install in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Rapture Pro\2.0\VST2DLL Path
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Rapture Pro\2.0\VST3DLL Path

... were pointing to the wrong paths so I corrected them. Hopefully next time we (hopefully) will get a patch it will (hopefully) work.

Also special bonus registry issue here.

(Usual "don't try this at home kids" restrictions apply, fiddle with the registry at your risk).

I question that they even did anything in the update, it's probably just a new installer with nothing changed. Just to buy them some more time.

No go here with Rapture Pro. I uninstalled and then reinstalled R-Pro. the samples are still not playing. It's back to taking forever to load and crashing Sonar Platinum. What I can't stand about Cakewalk are the fragments of files it leaves behind and the process of having to delete them from the registry. I will be emailing support.

Re: Rapture Pro 2.0.1 Update Released 2015/06/06 23:35:24 (permalink)
Thanks Dok but with Cakewalk software being screwy as it is with just their basic installs I always use the default path. I learned that a long time ago with Dimension Pro, Cakewalk Soundcenter and Rapture. I don't think this will help in my situation. I've already contacted support to see what they're going to do about this. I've been a long time supporter and have invetsed a lot of money in cakewalk products. I'm hoping they will make it right but if not I am going to take this to a much higher level. For now I am done. I do appreciate everyone's help so thanks again.

Fair enough but if you are not getting any sound on some programs the log file WILL point to the reason why. Ta.

How and where do I access the log file? All this technical stuff is really above my skill level. That's what Cakewalk needs to understand. Not all of us are tech-savvy, computer gurus and the way they do things is much different than what I am use to. I can get around the computer some but doing things like this is out of my league and to be honest we shouldn't have to be going through it anyway. We shouldn't have to sort through problems like these. Seems this is the history of Cakewalk though. I understand software has bugs but after an update or two from the vendor they are usually sorted out and without me having to try to become a programmer or registry hacker. Lol.

We shouldn't have to

End of story

For me with things like synths, I barely scratch the surface, I use presets and maybe do a few tweaks when needed, I don't go creating my own sounds or digging around deep or anything, don't have the time nor the inclination, I play guitar. It may well be that all synths (software) will have bugs, it's just that I don't come into contact with said bugs in other synths I use, they may well be there, but they aren't at the front door where I lurk, on the top layer, in the basics. With Rap Pro, the bugs are there, at the front door staring you in the face, at the most basic level, sounds don't even play ? and it wasn't just with legacy sounds, there were a couple of factory sounds which were barely audible, and it seems to be pretty well universal among users so . . . one would think that would have been a pretty obvious thing.

Anyway, it will most likely get there in the end, but I wont be jumping on any Cake release on day one again, unlike 007, my confidence/faith is "shaken AND stirred"

Guitar and bass are my main instruments but I do like using pads, strings and stuff like that from time to time. What gets me is Reaper, MixCraft, Omnisphere, EZdrummer, Superior Drummer, Addictive Drums, etc... all get updates, bug fixes and enhancements. The difference is the updates in these programs are installed easily and without having to go into the registry to fix things or find files and move them to where they're suppose to be. That is the job of the installer. Rapture Pro has been a nightmare for me. I do hope Cakewalk comes through but how long will we have to wait before they do?

Re: Rapture Pro 2.0.1 Update Released 2015/06/07 02:44:35 (permalink)
Fixed nothing. Can't get Rupture Pro authorized at all on OSX, still runs in demo mode although Command Center shows it as Connected and has a proper license/serial. I can't use the product I paid for, even 6 weeks after I've purchased it. It's a new record for me.

Can't uninstall it either, by following instructions from manual, since there is no "Uninstall" option in Command Center (at least not in OSX version).

2 soundsets are still displayed as red, even though they've been reinstalled multiple times (both manually and from Command Center).

How could you release something like this (both the 'product' and the 'update') is beyond me.

Still not working in FL Studio 11 or 12 without Switching on fixed buffer size in the FL Studio Plugin  wrapper.
Notes are sticking otherwise.

Re: Rapture Pro 2.0.1 Update Released 2015/06/07 10:33:01 (permalink)
Hey guys, I just wanted to chime in with a couple notes here.

First, there's a fix for FL Studio's stuck notes in the works, we just weren't able to get it into this update.

Since the release of the updated Command Center for Mac OS, authorizations there have been working for the vast majority of Mac OS users, so if problems persist there, please contact Support as there's likely something unique to your system preventing this from working properly.

Geo524, to me it sounds like there's something with how the content is installing on your system that's preventing so many programs from loading. It's likely there's a couple small tweaks that may need to happen to get you up and running properly. Support should definitely be able to help you with this.

We're working hard to get as many new fixes/features into Rapture Pro as quickly as we can. Thanks.

Re: Rapture Pro 2.0.1 Update Released 2015/06/07 10:35:58 (permalink)
Thanks Jon....

Assume you are taking note of the posts here, I'm updating as much as I can find as I go along. Any feedback on the other threads over the last 48 hours would be great.

Another bug alongside the notes playing whilst in search text issue...

Search for "Acoustic" and you will get some results. If you put a space before or afterwards you will get completely different results. The text is not being trimmed before the query is being executed. Also I notice no basic wildcard support which is tad disappointing.

Please note with stuck notes it's not just FL Studio, it's Maschine as well although I assume it's the same bug.

Thanks...

1) If you click the "1" box at the top, and go to the master output and move it up and down there are no values for us to look at (basic enhancement please).

2) Bug - If you move the master pan above it with your mouse it appears broken. It is monitoring the Y axis (mouse up and down) rather than the X axis (mouse left and right)!

Something that worked for me!
After installing the Rapture Pro update, problems remained the same.
Long time to open Rapture projects, long time to open Rapture's GUI from a track, -tested in 4 different DAWs.
But... after I rescan VSTs in every single DAW now... (miracle!) Rapture project opens in 2-3 seconds and Rapture GUI opens from tracks in 3-4 seconds!!! -tested in Sonar, Reaper, Tracktion and Presonus Studio One.
Still having some problems with some presets, but I am sure down the road Cakewalk people will take care of everything.

Re: Rapture Pro 2.0.1 Update Released 2015/06/07 20:25:09 (permalink)
I got Muz3um working :) Even though I had long ago originally installed all the Rapture and Dim Pro stuff to defaults, the Muz3um multisamples were in Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Rapture\Multisamples for whatever reason, so I copied them to Program Files\Cakewalk\Rapture\Multisamples and now they are all good in Rapture Pro, only Galbanum Piscis to go, but I think that is up to Cakewalk, something to do with the .sfz files I think I read. I did try loading some of the presets that don't work in Rapture Pro in Rapture, and taking note of what samples are used, then trying to load those in the offending presets in Rapture Pro, but it wont do it. Then the 'almost' silent Rapture Pro factory presets and the volume irregularities. I could live with most of the volume irregularities, but the 'almost' silent ones . . . well they are practically useless.

Load times seem to be back to normal, around 3 seconds for standalone and in both REAPER and Platinum, the only difference from the other day after update has been computer shutdown and then restarted the next day so . . . I tested it multiple times and it was consistent so I am happy with that.

There is an accessibility/usability bug whereby if you go to another application, then go back to Rapture Pro (say by ALT-Tabbing in Windows, or just clicking on the title bar), the Focus is not set so the arrow keys (left/right/up/down) no longer work when selecting presets. So whenever Rapture Pro comes in Focus something should always be selected so the arrow keys work (ain't happening). Issue is with VST and standalone.

The other problem is I have still great difficulty in seeing what is selected in the TYPE and PROGRAM columns. The selection bar is just a lighter shade of grey. With the writing so small (or maybe it's the font that's not helping) it's really hard to see.

I got Muz3um working ... copied them to ...

As has been posted before ... you can just 'link/junction' them if you don't want to maintain duplicates ...

as per http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3214357 ...
cmd.exe

cd C:\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Sample Data\Rapture Pro\Multisamples

mklink /J "Digital Sound Factory Volume 3" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common
\Cakewalk\x64\Dimension Pro\Multisamples\Digital Sound Factory Volume 3"

Keep in mind - these are my files as an example. Understand what you are doing before actioning 'hacks'.

I've currently done this with 12 of my legacy packs

NOTE though: a junction is just a pointer, so any 'action' will affect the source multisamples. You can 'delete' the junction and it won't delete the files from the original location. But if you 'move' the junction it will also move the original subfolders/files.

cmd.exe
C:\>mklink ?
The syntax of the command is incorrect.
Creates a symbolic link.

MKLINK [[/D] | [/H] | [/J]] Link Target

/D      Creates a directory symbolic link.  Default is a file
                symbolic link.
/H      Creates a hard link instead of a symbolic link.
        /J      Creates a Directory Junction.
Link    specifies the new symbolic link name.
Target  specifies the path (relative or absolute) that the new link
                refers to.

There should be a better way, should not have to use mklink. File paths should be set up in a settings section somewhere,I think the prog file format should be upgraded/replaced. Hard coded file paths are not good.

So long as your multisamples actually exist in either Rapture Pro's or Dimension/Rapture 1's multisample folders, everything should load correctly without any need to do anything special. Alex had the unusual case of an incorrect imported value, but that's likely due to something from a previous SONAR/Rapture 1 install on his system.

I'll use Alex's Steinberger Bass pack case as an example of how a typical scenario goes. User has Rapture 1.2.2 installed, multisamples installed to either C: or an external drive (the behavior as far as Rapture Pro is concerned will be identical). They've installed their Steinberger pack, and this loads and plays correctly in Rapture 1.2.2.

Next, they install Rapture Pro. Again, the exact location of where they choose to put their Sample Data directory doesn't matter, but for the sake of argument, let's say D:\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Sample Data. Rapture Pro then completes the rest of the installation, and as part of this, copies the existing Rapture 1.2.2 programs into Rapture Pro's own programs folder.

Now you open your host, and insert Rapture Pro. With Update 1, you'll notice Rapture 1's programs now have the lovely new custom bank art (and the bank selection brackets). You go to the Steinberger Type, click to load one of the programs, and now that Rapture Pro has your correct legacy multisample paths, will grab those multisamples directly from their original location, and everything loads and plays correctly.

Hopefully this helps make things a little clearer (especially for the non-technical types). Thanks guys.

Since the release of the updated Command Center for Mac OS, authorizations there have been working for the vast majority of Mac OS users, so if problems persist there, please contact Support as there's likely something unique to your system preventing this from working properly.

I have contacted support and no solution. I keep on getting told to enter my OS X password correct. Of course I am entering it correct!!!! Ive been doing it for years! and all my other plugins work. cakewalk OS X plugins don't work due to authorisation - full stop. You have great products but they are f'd due to authorisation. CA-2A is still not working. ... and Rapture Pro is in demo as its been for a month. Are there any OS X Yosemite users that got rapture pro authorised? because Im not the only one with this problem as can be read in this thread.

Re: Rapture Pro 2.0.1 Update Released 2015/06/09 09:44:48 (permalink)
I am going to write this once and expect a full detailed reply from a Cakewalk offical - I would like a refund on my purchase of Rapture Pro for the following the reason "The product doesnt work!". I am experiencing the same issues as all Fruityloops 12 user's inside Reaper. There isnt a issue with Reaper or my system and theres no need to provide details because put simply you repleased a update which causes more performance issues on loadup and still has'nt fixed the underlying problems. The solution at this point at this point is to debug your useless release and refund everybody that bought into it. Were not your beta testers we have no want or need to spend countless hours trolling your forum looking for answers that are never going to come because no one wants to get fired and i quote stating "It just doesnt work". Please give me a detail explaination as to how to get my money back out of this piece of ... unfinished code. FYI latest Reaper - Win7Pro SP1 - 64bit install on all products - 4790ki7 8gigRAM multiple discs and probably one of the best rigs on here. Ive seen free plugins loadup faster than your pile of ****.

weeman182  you need to contact cakewalk directly, rather than posting in their user forum, if you want a refund... a public forum's a good place for a rant, tho...

just a sec
