I'm afraid so Mark, the installer should already have the plugs checked that you are authorized to use, but yea it's all one big bundle. Thanks I don't have this, my Maserati WUP just expired. Guess I have to make a choice...One thing for sure no WUP for that bundle..

No, USB stick not needed. Waves and ilock authorization have both changed and are more like custom shop without the shopping option. No need to use a browser to authorize either of them now. Of course ilock still needs their USB key, but the past browser issues that persisted for years with them are gone.

Been putting this plugin through its paces this morning, and all I can say is WOW...ever pull up next to some teenager's tricked-out Honda Civic at a light and marvel at the amorphous woofy sounds coming out of his trunk? Well, now you can have that same muddy, indistinct bass in your own tunes! Tired of hearing bass with identifiable notes? RBass is the answer you've been looking for!

I'm going out on a limb and guessing Waves will not be quoting bitflipper in their advertisements.

I have, as of yesterday, officially resigned from the wave of Waves...
While many of the plugins I dearly loved...they were often too much of a resource hog, and Sonar always in some manner frowns on them, and there is always problems. While I never had any issues in other hosts, Sonar, being my preferred, I had to decide. I have plenty of other options in my arsenal that do pretty much the same thing, so I resigned myself to taking Waves out of the locker.
On the bright side of that, I used the money to buy my Forte, and Komplete 9, which will get far more use, and is far more bang for the buck.
Sad day to loose my Waves...many were quite awesome...maybe, when their everyday prices are down to reasonable, and THEN they have a sale... I might buy back the ones I miss the most...
But times they're a changin'....and I'm a changin' too...to a more simplistic way of doing things...
Asi es la vida!

I do have a serious question. Is sub 40hz bass that is not muddy even possible? I have always assumed that although the annoying sub-sonic boom i am exposed to sounds awful to me, that inside the car, the rest iof the frequencies sound better but are overpowered on the outside due to the fact that lower frequencies carry farther. Maybe I am giving them too much credit. I'm just guessing that if one were to pull up next to someone blasting classical music through a high end sound system at comprable volumes the timpanis, tubas, etc would sound like a muddy mess from the next car. Pretty amusing image.

I recall using Maxxbass years ago and finding it useless for anything except tracks that used 808's as a bassline. Since I rarely need such a thing, I doubt i will get much use out of this, but hard to pass up free . I started to trell my son to download it, but I decided I don't want to start him down the path of muddled boom, despair and meth whores.

I know Grem...if it had not been for all the issues I've had with Waves and the X Series I probably wouldn't have jumped ship....I loved my Waves...still do... Just that some of them are sooo resource hungry....that was the killer for me... When I do my next PC Upgrade and finally get into the i7 arena with 32 Gig of Ram... I'll probably jump back in the game... They are definitely GREAT plugs...but had to make a decision....time will tell if it was wise or not...

bitflipper Ever pull up next to some teenager's tricked-out Honda Civic at a light and marvel at the amorphous woofy sounds coming out of his trunk?
Last month my neighbor across the street moved. In the last year he found a new way to supplement his income - by installing stereo systems in cars with those beloved high wattage woofers in the trunk. It's amazing how that even across the street that low bass can cut though every room in the house so even in my office in the back I could share the joy and hear that lovely - wump, wump, wump... and you always knew he was coming home from his day gig at 3am. Do you know that Mexican Ranchera, 50's Doo Wop and Motown classics can all be improved with massive sub-bass? Neither did I! That maybe only 2 or 3 notes in a verse or chorus get that magical emphasis makes it all the more special! In fairness I don't think that my ex-neighbor was trying to be a jerk, just clueless (quiet neighborhoods usually like to remain quiet). He did cut down his broadcasting time from a couple of hours each day to bursts when he was 'tuning' his installations or trying sell a system. Still now that he's gone I don't miss him.

I use Maxxbass all the time and find that when you use it correctly, it adds clarity to the bass and makes it sit in the mix better. It doesn't work in every situation, but there have been times when I've been tearing my hair out trying to get the bass to sound more intelligible and Maxxbass has worked wonders. Of course like most plugs, it's quite possible to dial in settings that make it sound worse, and I have no doubt that RBass is the same.
