Report your X2 (running, not install) problems here.

Please no install issues.

Just probs using X2 after it is fully installed.
None for me as yet but TBH I simply played a recent project in it. I'll be running it through some paces over the next few days.

I wasn't planning to install it on my old system but the new PC is delayed by a week. Can I install it on multiple systems??? I'm hoping it's stable. I really love X1 but it does crash every couple of minutes - pretty much 50% of the time I open or insert a plugin, or 90% of the time when copying a plugin to another track! I always save and it reboots in seconds unlike Protools so I've learnt to deal with it..but hopefully that is fixed.

For kicks, I installed X2 (and asio4all) on my work Vista-era Dell Optiplex 755, running Xp SP2 32 bit. This machine is terrible when it comes to daily work, and is chock full of enterprise management software... but I digress.

I used the extra content Demo as a test. X2 ran in a very responsive manner considering the state of the system. No issues noticed. Can't wait to get home and test on my "Ubersystem". I'm elbows deep in two projects and I'm going to jump right in with them.

This may be functioning as designed, but the Smart Grid turns off the triplet button when changing the zoom level and the only way to re-engage it is manually. I get that if I'm using 8th note triplets I may not want quarter note triplets when I zoom out, but it would be nice if, when I zoomed back into the 8th note range, it remembered that setting.

The Smart Tool in PRV was giving me some trouble as Draw seems to be the default for it. Couldnt click anywhere without leaving a MIDI note. Took me a while to figure out that right click + drag selects notes which enables it to function like X1.

K have just been fiddling around with it: getting a hang of the new features (timeline zoom, timeline right click zoom etc) and have had it hang a couple of times- not generating a crash report and requiring alt-ctrl-del to exit.

I think it has something to do with the Console emulation running and me trying to open the master bus Prochannel from console view. It has also happened with audio running and me doing the old shift+D.

Peak markers don't display the numeric value properly unless you change the zoom level or move the cursor around in the clips pane. Weird.

Everything seems pretty slick to me.

My only gripe thus far is that the VST scan seems to be taking twice as long when opening Sonar....??

Disable it. You just have to remember to do a manual scan with any new plugs that you install. I seem to remember Noel mentioning something about speeding up the plug scan somewhere. I actually could leave mine on but I choose not to because I have a special plugin menu that forces me to scan plugs manually so I can add them to my menu. But if you're not installing plugs, kill the scan in preferences/vst settings. Just remember you did it though and don't get scared when/if you install new plugs and they don't show up immediately until you initiate a scan. :)

P.S. Markyzno: I got a billion plugs on this box (it's my test box that I do lots of crazy stuff on) and I just went and turned on scan at startup. It's so fast I don't even see it and only held me up from working for a second longer than just seeing the splash screen. This pc is nothing special...connected to the net, virus protection, tons of programs, Dell Inspiron with 4 gig of RAM and an i3. Plug scan fly's right on by here and honest when I tell you...I got billions of plugs on this from beta testing for a few plug companies.

    yup, just did that... :)

My scans started taking a million years after pointing to the NI Komplete 64 bit folder and now longer again in X2.. But kinda irrelevant now as I have disabled Scan on startup....

    Cheers...

I have the producer version of x2, and although it is working very smooth, the new console emulator channel pc module is not installed (and I can get x2 to recognize it).

The Bus console emulator shows up when I try to ad a PC module, but not the Channel version (with the trim nob). I checked for the  file (Console Emulator Channel_64.dll) and it is where it should be, but when I try to insert a pc module the console channel emulator is not listed.

Besides this annoyance, x2 is working great.

Ugghhh first crash..... muted and then unmuted the Master channel as track was playing then crash time!

X2 is behaving the same way as X1 for me where it wont release the process after a crash.... (damn it!)

It's still doing that hang of SONARPDR.exe in the Task Manager. I just fired it up then and first project crashed, but that's cause I got a 32 bit plug it doesn't like - did the same in X1. So I'm fine with that, BUT WHAT'S WITH THE 15 MINUTE HANG IN THE TASK MANAGER!!!!!??? I don't want to re-start my computer every time SONAR crashes or wait 15 mins... And no, I'm not using M-Audio, it's Edirol UA 25-EX. And yes I have tried unplugging it :)

    1. Graphic problem sometimes with the new console emulator. It disappears?
Restart project helps....Sometimes on old BUS old X1 project it's not even react at all ever..BUS  console emulator?

    2. One crash yet only. That was during bouncing Kontakt track to audio and I moved and clicked the mouse at the arrangement page during bouncing...
Crash and I got a error message but haven't send it to Cakewalk yet..

After 3 attempts I got X2 up and running. I'm assuming the white dotted type line is the draw tool?
It drove me nuts trying to get rid of it.....thanks for pointing how do get rid of the smart tool function. I wish Cakewalk had not done this, it's just an extra step to turn something off that I don't really use anyway. I was just trying to go through the markers in a tune and this pesky white line was following the whole time

Yeah, kill tasks don't work! That's always my first go to point but with SONAR it doesn't always seem to work. It does with some types of crashes though, just not others.

I tried to use my previous install of Rapture 1.2.2 but it says that synth was not installed properly so I'm going to have to install it again.

Going to take a bit of messing about my end it seems, but I'm feeling positive...

On the Pro Channel, I can't get the Console Emulator to load, it just "smears" and crashes Sonar. Also crashes after a while using Autotune 7/Evo/Harmony.

Yeah, kill tasks don't work! That's always my first go to point but with SONAR it doesn't always seem to work. It does with some types of crashes though, just not others.

When this happens, did you try this:

Use Resource Monitor, in Overview tab, right click on Sonar's process and click 'Analyze Wait Chain...'

It will show the other processes Sonar is waiting for before it terminates. You will need to terminate those processes, too.

    I opened an X1d project in X2.
The output routing dropdown in all audio and instrument tracks, in all buses, in track and console view does not respond.
I cannot re-route audio at all from what was set to at open.

I'm a guitarist, not a scientist, recording audio/midi via SONAR Platinum.

Has anyone seen this little beefburger.

Some bits of the install have pointed X2 at the X1 install locations and some bits point to the X2 location.

i.e. I have a custom soft instrument layout created under X1

The Plugin Manager sees the path <System-users-Wookiee-Appdata-roaming-Cakewalk-SONAR X1 Producer--Plug-in menu Layouts>

    but the

    Inspector sees the path <System-users-Wookiee-Appdata-roaming-Cakewalk-SONAR X2 Producer--Plug-in menu Layouts>.

Subtle but never the less irritating.

Yes I did take the migrate option on install.

I did try and report it but apparently the Internet is broken.

Which does pose the question what am I using to publish this.  Is it possible Becan has finally succeed and taken control of all things Cakewalk or is it all just Bupasised?

Install went ok but when I tried to load the Overloud TH2 is says the plug in not installed correctly and crashes. I tried rebooting, rescanning vsts, removing the th2 files and reinstalling just that from the x2 setup running the setup as admin.

Nothing seems to work. I did send in the dump files so hopefully that will help find a solution. Has anyone else tried the TH2?
