I would if you will also brighten the play button on the transport when its in play. I can Email it to you if CW has no objections.

Yes, no problem.

Gentlemen This is written to thank Alree for great work. I sent him the dll yesterday late too and he got it back to me now with all the needed fixes. If you have not seen his work you have no idea what you are missing. I will keep this as part of my setup from here out.

Thanks Alree!

My latest scheme with the various TTSRes hacks can be downloaded here -

http://bare-foot.org/diamond/TTSRes16.zip For Sonar 7.

http://bare-foot.org/diamond/TTSRes17.zip For Sonar 8.

Each .zip contains 4 colour schemes for the segmented level meters - Blue, Cyan, Green and Yellow.

Hope you enjoy.

Thanks for the hacks for the SONAR 8 resources...and the link to your resource hacker...

...but...

What happens if the update that Keith Albright alluded to (http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.asp?m=1526976&mpage=6) happens to involve changes to the TTSRes17.dll file? Do you have some sort of map of the changes that *you* made so as to transfer those over?

I'm affraid there is no map for the changes, you just have to go in there and change each individual bitmap one at a time (when you eventually find it). I could give you a list of the Bitmap numbers if
you wanted but unless the update involves GUI changes (which is not likely) you should be safe.

hey alree, have a look at "Restorator 2007", it can create a "Patch_TTSRes16.exe" with only your modified graphics inside. then the user can slap the patch into their sonar directory and if they are using "TTSRes17" they can rename it to "TTSRes16", patch it, then rename it back to "TTSRes17". as you mentioned the numbers stay the same so shouldn't be a problem. and the patch itself would only be about 120kb +/- (as it only contains the bitmaps)

EDIT: when the patch is used, it also creates a backup of the original file prior to patching.

Thanks, I'll have a look at that. The only problem is that I've made changes to the large transport for Sonar 7 which screws up the redesigned large transport in Sonar 8.

no probs! ah, i see what you mean about the 2 versions. that would eliminate the renaming on the user side.

(PS forgot to mention, nice job on the faders....less distracting to the eye (the originals were far too busy)

Is there a similar resource editor compatible with 64bit systems? I couldn't get your Sonar 8 files to work - Sonar wouldn't start at all, so I tried to check the original .dll in the resource hacker you linked to and it said "No resources found" or something to that effect, so I'm assuming this file is different between the 32 and 64 bit versions.

Hey all I just thought I'd let you know that I finally got a bit of time to do some work on the SonarTemplates site, I've checked it in Firefox on Linux and IE (in a VM) and it looks ok but if anyone notices anything odd please do let me know. (there seems to be a bit of odd behaviour with some of the pics showing the wrong preview image but it being the right picture when you click on it (!?!))

Edit: Seth Perstien's Sonar Clinic Tour '08 theme is now up and available at Sonartemplates it's in the 'Light Themes' section.

Cheers

Hey Guys,

here are some custom rounded ('curved') faders I made for sonar 7 and 8

I've changed the meters colours slightly also (and changed the "red" close button on the large transport toolbar)

NB: there's a button when you open the patcher called "Read instructions" that will give more details on using it

Sonar 7
- Rounded Faders for Sonar 7 (32-bit)
- Rounded Faders for Sonar 7 (64-bit)

Sonar 8
- Rounded Faders for Sonar 8.3 (32-bit)
- Rounded Faders for Sonar 8.3 (64-bit)

Sonar 8.5.x
- Rounded Faders for Sonar 8.5.1 (64-Bit)
- Rounded Faders for Sonar 8.5.1 (32-Bit)

- Rounded Faders for Sonar 8.5.2 (32-Bit)

- Rounded Faders + Classic Meters 32-Bit (Italian)

and here's my "Goobase" Colour Set (as seen in the screengrab) if anyone wants to try it.

Enjoy!

I want to lighten the grid lines created by engaging "Add Musical Snap to Transient Snap pool." I can't figure out where to find the appropiate Color catagory and screen element.

I wish there was some sort of color picture with circles and arrows explaining what the screen elements are.

@ candlesayshi: thanks man! hope you enjoy.

Dave, some sort of graphical representations for the colours would be a great feature, its true its so hard to find 'some' items. "Musical snap pool Lines" & "Musical snap pool Markers" are the ones your after (look in 'all colors')

Buddy,
I can't get the curved Faders thing to work! Man are those cool! I downloaded your file and put it in the proper directory, but it gives me an error message; something about it not being the right one. Bummer.

Hi spindlebox, I'm assuming your using sonar 8, so I've edited the file that was posted earlier in this thread to make a new patcher. should be OK now. let me know if not!

check my previous post for the sonar 8 version.

Hey Buddy,

That's the weird thing! I actually have 7.0.2. I dragged it into that folder where I was able to drag the other .TTSRes16.exe files to make changes (the patch files Alree) posted which worked BTW - and I got that error. Yours was an .exe file and his were straight .dll, so I wonder what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

hey spindle, seems i'll have to make 4 patches as it seems to be. 2x S7PE and 2x S8PE as there is a difference between the x64 and x32 file versions. bet you're using the 32bit. I had the opposite problem with Alree's file. I was hoping the patcher would jump past it, alas no, it's picky and rightly so due to the 4 dll versions.

Buddy, you were right about the 32 bit. I downloaded your new patch and I'm a HAPPY CAMPER!!!! Thank you SO much. That kicks BUTT!!!!!!

I don't care what anybody says about "silly" track icons, GUI, colors, tweaks, etc. - it really helps my creativity when I'm looking at a gorgeous interface. Thanks SO much for the options!!!

Hey Buddy110,

First, thanks for the files. They look awesome!! But before I try them on my system I just want to ask you if they work in Vista64, do you know? Also, I'm not clear on how they're applied since these are executable files instead of .dll files. From what I've read so far it seems you need to run them inside your Sonar folder, is this correct? Or do you have to run them from a specific subfolder inside the Sonar folder?

Thanks in advanced!

tried it on 32 bit and looks GREAT ! the old faders are really, really ugly compared to the curved ones.. do you also have a 64 bit version patcher fpr Sonar 8?
