Is there an option I am missing? I have tried importing some of them and some don't seem to import properly...the P5 one doesn't work at all; the MQ one imports most stuff, but I am still left with grey in some places (seems to be the main window mostly).

You have to restart Sonar for the entire scheme to take effect. There are a few of the things in Sonar that change that require a restart. So the P5 preset does nothing? Lemme know, I can repost it.

Edit: Xylyx, thats strange. I just downloaded and imported it fine.

All very nice but can we import colour schemes from previous versions
of Sonar?
I just tried to import some but had no idea where to find them.
I'm not even sure if I have any.
Cheers

It's okay...I think the original file I got was corrupt, as it was only 2k. Just downloaded again and it's 10k, so it will probably be okay now.

Ooh, nice work LionSound! I like the Kinetic scheme too.

Rothchild - There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding how to use the color schemes, so perhaps we (meaning you, of course ) could add a blurb on your website briefly explaining how to import/export .clr and .reg colo(u)r schemes? And thanks for hosting these!

Sure thing I'll get to it.

Sorry to those who may have got a broken download earlier I've been back through it all and hopefully the QC should be a little better now - I'm not a web dev or a designer (as you can probably guess) so I appreciate your patience with me ;-)

And of course thanks to all those who have contributed schemes so far, if you want to see your scheme up at http://sonartemplates.googlepages.com/home just email it to me at popworks AT gmail DOT com and I'll put it up as soon as I can.

Right I've just noticed a few more in the inbox so I'm off to get them posted!

Cheers

I've downloaded MQ's, Lionsounds Kinetic and DonM's Dark side. DonM's does not work, the other two work flawlessly, it looks like DonM's in only 2 kb versus 10 and 9 kb respectively for the other two. Anybody else had problems with DonM's? I think it's missing something, I've tried restarting Sonar twice to no avail.

Where's LionSounds PruTuoles style!?

Excellent stuff guys, thank you;
it really helps me to learn the interface and the directory structure

Hehe, I was thinking about doing a PT scheme. I don't have PT though, so I don't have access of its screen shots. If someone is interested, let me know here, or PM me. I'll need screen shots of the Console View, and Track View, with at least ten audio and MIDI tracks in the TV ... alternating some clip view and some inline view for the MIDI tracks in TV. Also prefer the song to be playing so you captur the meters in the pics.

In the meantime, check the next thread ...

Sorry ladies and gents, I am having trouble with DonMs download I only have a 2k file too, DonM please can you send me your .clr file directly?

I've made another page with some instructions for loading and saving colour schemes if someone could have a look and let me know if it makes enough sense or not it'd be much appreciated.

Intel Core i7 3.07Ghz, 12 Gigs RAM, 64 bit OS, Sonar Producer 8.52, RME Multiface II and PCIe interface, Maschine, Fractal Axe-FX, Sonic Implants Library, TC Fireworx, Voiceworks, BFD2, SD2, Stylus RMX, Trillian.

Will do, when I get back to studio one where the DAW is with the .clr file - Is your email address in your profile? Just let me know where to send it if your address is not in your profile - thanks

That would be great, because your scheme seems to be very well done.

I tried my hand at making some color schemes, but wow,,, there's a LOT of things that take colors, and this isn't an easy process. It gave me a greater appreciation for what it takes to make one. Thanks you guys, it's not a huge thing, but it is fun to be able to change colors.

Last week I started a thread essentially asking the same thing but I deleted it because it just is not like me to think down that path - but I do agree with you to some extent - there seems to be a lot of interest in the color presets - who knows????

Hi Don

If you want to send it to me at: popworks AT gmail DOT com that would be much appreciated. (and that goes for anyone else who has devised a colour scheme for Sonar and would like to share it with the world)

You can check out colour templates here: http://sonartemplates.googlepages.com/home

I call this "purple haze". I also adjusted a bunch of the text colors to make them easier to see (well, at least for me...). See Rothchild's page for both left and right monitor.

I think the color cuztomization tool is missing an eye dropper tool. In apps like photoshop, there is a little eye dropper that you can click on anything on your desktop and the dropper will capture the color and make it your active color. That would be nice.

It would also be nice to be able to click on a screen control / window, widget, etc... to pick the thing you want to customize instead of having to scroll through a big list.

I was thinking the same thing,,, well, didn't think of the eyedropper, but if we could right click on a feature, and change it's color, it would sure make making color changes easier! Then again, with all the other features I want, this seems a lower priority. I have to say though, that I do really enjoy these color changes.
