charlyg If you just disable it, it won't disappear. If it disappears, you have uninstalled it.. Trust me, I just jumped through those hoops. In my case, the Win 10 preview seems to want access to those drivers, but I think that will go away at the end of the month..... oh and they cause havoc because this is a multi-use PC.
If I uninstall, it reinstalls the next session. If I disable, it reloads it next session...and yes, it doesn't seem to make a any difference to the stability/running of Sonar.

It's all ones and zeroes. How could it be different for you? The only way I can see, (of course I am not all knowing etc.)is for a setting somewhere to be different. It can only do what it's told, so in my mind, something is telling it to reinstall drivers that don't load. Maybe a program that makes sure your drivers are up to date, etc........ Try turning off Windows update, and testing..just a thought

People wanted a more granular installation experience where they could update just one component if desired. I guess the next step is to have both.

Just to support what Craig said, I personally do not use audio loops so would rather not install them since they can take up a lot of room and take a long time to download. That said, I think we are all familiar with Microsoft's approach to run a full install or select components with check boxes so its not "rocket surgery". Cakewalk is making rapid improvements these days so it shouldn't be too long until the CCC is awesome like so many other parts of Sonar. R

Aww now see, this is a big part of what I love about Cakewalk. They know they have a plethora of well above average tech gurus and very musical customers that they know they should listen to when the barking starts. Everytime I run into something that is worth barking about, I will yelp. I recommend anybody that has a clue of what is going in with their system do the same. Cakewalk does listen, but we have to bark. They can't test every PC in the world and the variables of parts and software combinations are overwhelming. Thank you for the CCC update. I'm about to try it out and see how much more intelligent you made it. Cheers, LJ

Beta vs reliable installations - rule of thumb?I haven't gone back too far to assess the full history but recently it seems that the updates are sorted out within 10 days of release thanks to all the clever "Beta testers", and to CW for listening. To be on the safe side I may wait until 15 days have passed. Cheers, R

I found new bug in Foxboro - when you use Kickstart plugin for side chaining, fast bounce render create exscessive pumping in final audio. When you render exactly the same project using regular render, everything correct with side chaining.

My studio computer is not connected to the net, It's a bit of a hassle to connect up so I only do it each mont, bear in mind foxboro was my first update, I've only got platinum a few weeks. Have to get a wifi extender for the house so my studio computer can pick it up out in the studio in my back garden.

Is it possible to add a "hide" feature to specific components in CCC or am I out of line for asking? Some things like tutorials for instance I do not wish to install due to taking up additional space on my HDD. It stays red (or is it yellow?) and although it's not harming anything it's an eyesore. I think a feature to hide what we don't want to install would be a good thing.

Actually they added, to the Hid feature. You can now see what is hidden by looking in the setting icon (cog symbol). So unhiding is really easy now. And it doesn't look for updates between hiding, so it's quicker to do and undo than before.
