Control bar will look something like this: PDC and FX buttons are RED when enabled, just like in my old mods. When SONAR X1 introduced the new Skylight interface (including this Control Bar), I could not guess if the FX button was enabled or not because the "Sonar cyan" color has about the same brightness than the gray button when it's not engaged. I had accidentally toggled all FX off by keyboard shortcut and wondered a long time why my mix sounds so odd. Finally I found the FX button and clicked it a couple of times and tried to guess if it should be blue or gray; in my opinion it's logical that effects are on when FX button is engaged but someone at Cakewalk has an opposite logic: FX are turned off when FX button is engaged. Confusing... This button was one of the things that made me do mods for SONAR!

FX button finetuning: Effects are on - green background and FX text. Effects are bypassed - red background and NoFX text. Now even I understand in 5 milliseconds state of the button. :D

New Pre/Post button: In the original button "Pre" state is indicated as "Post not enabled". In other words, it's a button with Post text but button background in gray color when ProChannel is Pre FX Bin. This is confusing because you have to think "pre" as "not post". New button solves this dilemma - it shows ProChannel position as clear text but also as color: red is for pre and blue is for post. Most of the time this is set to post; thus the red color is there to indicate that there's something special going on.

New built-in module skins -76 is Dark Side based with updated push buttons PC4K compressor - I'll remake this to clean up the buttons section. ProChannel Tube. I and II types are A and B in this skin. FX Chain and my favorite, -76 compressor are now easy to pick up from the Insert Module list...

I understand the Cakewalk logic better. When the FX button was activated it means the Bypass FX is activated.

I learned to understand that logic, too, but when I saw the button for the first time I was totally confused until I read button's tooltip. PDC acronym is another button which does not tell novice user anything but that button works in normal logic; enabled when "pushed down".

Panu- this looks really nice to me. I love the Darkside theme, and really like your logic with respect to "button" logic. However with Cake's monthly release schedule I am concerned that the Mod's would need to be uninstalled prior to upgrading to a new release, then re-installed. (Apart from the risk of a new release "breaking" something in Duckbar.) Your thoughts?

You don't need to uninstall mods when updating SONAR update overwrites all mods made in the TTSRES.dll file but it's easy to re-install mods after SONAR update. SONAR installer don't care if the existing TTSRES.dll is modded; if Cakewalk has made changes to that file, it will be replaced. If some update does not include changes in TTSRES.dll then mods keep on working just like before. I'm planning to implement some kind of method to apply desired mods automatically after SONAR update to make things faster and more "set and forget" for people who don't want to go deep in the details in modding.

That's really great news Panu. I am looking forward to trying it out when it's ready. (Man - with all the interest in enhanced flexibility in colour choices, desire for GUI customizations, adding note icons to the staff view - etc -this can really serve a major need for the SONAR community. Many thanks.

EQ type selection has new style. It was possible to draw a partially transparent box around selected EQ name while maintaining 100% compatibility with SONAR. Light background makes it easier to read EQ values than the standard gray (screen capture is compressed JPG, in SONAR numbers are sharper). S-Type compressor: I added start and end values to Threshold, Attack and HPF knobs and removed their surrounding dots. (JPG compression messed small numbers in screen capture.)

Dark Side 2015 Preview Still unfinished, but you'll get the idea of what's coming... :D There are certain colors in SONAR2015 I can't access anymore because Cakewalk has made a big change in EXE file validating (it goes to demo mode if colors buried in the EXE file are tweaked). However, lots of things are still possible and I can bring new life to the Skylight interface. :) You can be professional and still like colors!

Haha. So I wasn't imagining things. The current system works fine. I'm using Windows 10 now, and it's the same. The drag and drop still doesn't work.
Reason for the disabled drag & drop is explained here: ---clip--- The problem is tied to how security permissions work. The ability to drag and drop from a normal applications to an elevated one would break the security model behind UAC. However, I'm unclear as to why a UAC prompt isn't shown, thus allowing for a temporary elevated operation (much like any linux user experiences every day). This is definitely something that Microsoft needs to work on. What troubles me is that this problem is already old. Vista behaved the same. There's 2 things you can do (one ugly, one annoying) Ugly: Disable UAC. But you lose all the extra security it offers.Annoying: Use another File manager and run it too as an AdministratorWhy another file manager? Because you can't actually elevate Windows Explorer. Despite seeing the option in the context menu of the Windows Explorer icon and a UAC prompt being displayed, the fact is Windows Explorer will not be elevated.
Source: http://superuser.com/questions/59051/drag-and-drop-file-into-application-under-run-as-administrator ---clip--- Drag & drop would work if Duckbar was executed with standard right, not as Administrator. Unfortunately Duckbar can't access 3rd party program's files and registry without admin rights. I improve other methods to make modding smoother.
