subtlearts Otherwise maybe the Kindle for PC app might offer some help... don't know if the images will come out in colour there or not, but worth a try. No, none of my books have color images. Actually, most books don't. Most have grayscale (or black and white) images like my book, unless it's a book on cooking, photography, or something like that. But the images should be clear and readable. Thanks! Scott -- Scott R. Garrigus - Author of the Cakewalk Sonar and Sony Sound Forge Power book series. Get Sonar X1 Power - Today! I ordered mine from Amazon and they sent me an Atlanta phone book.... NO wait... it is Sonar X1 POWER!.. I just thoght it was a phone bok when I saw the size of it. Actually, I like this size for using on a table top. Forget laying in the bed and reading it... I may order the e-version too. For more casual reading, then use the phone... I mean book for reference. Thanks Scott, Julien

Got my book today. Bought it from Amazon.com, as Amazon.ca didn't have it in stock. I prefer this larger size, and this sure beats a PDF. Sure to be using it as a reference.

Scott, I just ordered the iPad 2 and you will be my first eBook. I've enjoyed several of your other books (going back to Welcome to DOS, ha!) and would probably enjoy the new format everyone seems to be talking about. But, with the amount of traveling I seem to be doing it will be nice to not have to lug around the book. I have no idea which version I should get. Maybe you would know which one might look better and function better on the iPad. Thank you. Michael

Scott, Thank you, I will wait for the Kindle version which they say is available. Yesterday, I tried to apply a Barnes & Noble discount code to their Nook version. Found out the discount does not apply to electronic versions of books. I was able to cancel the item and once it is available on Amazon I will order it. One of the things I do is manage a couple of websites. Do you think it would be helpful if you had a section on your site that was dedicated to eBooks, and such? I understand once I get my hands on the iPad I will learn the difference of Nook and Kindle eBooks, but right now it is confusing. It would be great if we could see a visual difference between the two versions. Maybe someone has a youtube video that explains this. Thank you, Michael

Hi Michael, I don't know of any comparisons between Kindle and Nook, but you can probably find some comparison reviews on Google. But the eBooks themselves shouldn't really be any different because both versions contain the same content. They are just in different eBook file formats because of the two different devices. I like to recommend Kindle because it's more popular and I've heard a lot of good feedback from readers about it. Thanks! Scott -- Scott R. Scott, I saw that the Kindle version was available on 04/16 and I grabbed it immediately. Now, this is the way to use your book! The pages don't close up on me, I can access your Digifreq links directly from the Kindle, I can add notes, I can automatically return to the last page read and I don't have my studio stacked with old versions of Sonar Power! Great stuff! Thanks, Doug

How do you like the new, larger format? Scott Scott: I will answer your querry. I love the larger format. As one of the aging "guitar/bass/keyboard slinging primates" on this site, I can testify that many of us are getting older and with such our vision becomes more problematic. The larger format is much easier to read. Thank you! BTW, I have used Cakewalk software since 1992 (Cakewalk Professional 2 or 3) and have owned many of your Power books. They make it so much easier to work through the new features with each revision of Cakewalk's Sonar, especially the new look and structure of X1. The frequent step-by-step procedures you give (with many practical examples for us to work through) make your book more than a reference manual; it is like having a tutorial guide. And as a former academic, I am also pleased to see your use of correct English grammar, even though it is not necessarily required in this genre; such makes it clear for those who still remember sentence structure. Between your Power book and Eli Kranztberg's two excellent Groove3 videos, there is no reason why Sonar X1 should not be understandable, learnable and productive anymore. So please except this long-winded "thank you." Cecelius2

Go to my site: http://garrigus.com/?PowerBooks Then click on the SONAR X1 Power! link and then click the Errata link to see a list of corrections. You can also print out the page if needed. Thanks! Hi Wayne, Gregg, and Gary... Thanks very much! Glad to hear you like the new format. I like it too. I try to make my writing clear, clean, and correct, but I also have to give a lot of credit to my editor (Marta Justak). She's taught me a lot about the proper use of style and grammer. Between the book and my upcoming DVD tutorials... everyone should have no problem learning how to use SONAR. At least I hope so... Thanks! Scott -- Scott R. Karyn Scott, any news of the Kindle version for UK yet? or can be buy the US version? Hi Karyn, Nothing new to report yet, unfortunately. I had only just asked the publisher about this last week, so I didn't expect to hear anything just yet. I'll probably check with them again maybe sometime next week. As far as I know, both versions are the same. It's just the distribution deal outside the US that has to be worked out. I'm really sorry for the delay and wish I had more news... Thanks!
