I ordered the Sonar X1 Producer Upgrade Dec 31.   Now it's Jan 17-

18 days and I’m still waiting for a download link for the X1 Producer upgrade.  I'm trying to post this now hoping someone from Cakewalk reads the threads and can help out.

Jan 14th I got excited because I received the S/Ns but then disappointed; still no download link.

    HELP!!!

    Question:

I ordered Sonar 8.5 Producer about a week ago from my nearest store (in Canada). I received it today and registered. Now it's clearly written here : http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR/X1-overview.aspx that I'll get a free X1 upgrade.

    1 - Is this correct?
    2 - Where is the X1 download?
3 - If it's not ready yet, when should I expect it to be ready and how will I be informed?

There is a post in the forum on how to contact them directly - The phone might be A-LOT faster than a forum post.

Thanks for the reply, Mitchell.   I am in Thailand and I actually tried to get through twice, but I stopped both times before I reached a "human" waiting on hold and wondering how much my next phone bill will be.

Good news....I did get an email and apology for the delay.  Bad news.  I get error messages that the download files are corrupt and won't install.....so I am back at the forums trying to figure this all out :(

    @jamestoffee:

I just got of the phone with Tech for a similar install problem. Despite having downloaded the X1 Essential files 5 time in the last 24 hours, I too keep getting a "corrupted files" error when trying to install. The techie I spoke with said there's an alternate download site and he's emailing me the link to it. I'd pay the extra for a physical disc but why do that if there's an install problem related to that as well?

I figured I'd roadtest the Essential before I bothered with the Producer/Studio versions but I'm having second thoughts after reading how many problems guys seem to be having with the software. At this point, I can't even evaluate the program. It's frustrating!

Hi,  I recently purchased Sonar 8.5 Producer in the UK and have registered the product.  The product does not show up in my account and when trying to obtain the free upgrade I am referred to customer services in the USA.  I have sent two emails using the online form - no replies.  Today I called the customer service number and was told (by the machine) after several options that the perosn I wished to speak to was not available and asked to leave a message.  That part of the telephone system did not work either.  I trust the software has fewer bugs than the website and telephone system.  Before someone tells me I'm jumping the gun, this has been going on for 7 days and I am extremly disappointed with the level of service ot more correctly the lack of service from Cakewalk.

Hi, I'm in exactly the same position - myself and three other friends have each purchased and registered a copy of 8.5 Producer, and so far, only two of them have been able to download the X1 upgrade. My purchase is not showing up in my store account, and I'm also still waiting for a response from the email sent via the online form.

Since customer support doesn't response i hope someone at this forum can provide an answer. I have purchased a Roland/Cakewalk keyboard. It came with the production Plus pack which contains sonar 8.5 LE. I want to upgrade to sonar X1 producer. Does this mean i can go down the LE to producer upgrade path? If i buy the upgrade package (i probably gonna do that locally as the boxed versions are the same price as the download versions in the Netherlands) do i need to have an internet connection to install? I am not completely hopeful about Cakewalks registering procedure. Registering the plus pack didn't work out right. Email with code was sent to me but it doesn't show up in my registered products.

    Hope someone can help. Thnx.

    Hello Pierrec,

You would purchase the upgrade from 8.0 to X1.

    Thanks,

Just purchased the X1 upgrade and wondered why there are 12

Download Instructions for SONAR X1 Producer, Studio and Essential.RTF

    Updated April 7, 2011

on my download link?  They all look the same to me, and all say Updated April 7, 2011.  It's a little confusing.

    Thanks,

Is the download available using ftp, as well as http? In case of errors/broken connections, I could use filezilla to resume. If not, I'd need some sort of
download manager, or maybe use the pause/resume in Firefox. I have a decent dsl connection, but it's a mighty big download. Also, after purchase, how
long do I have access to the download link? Thanks!

    Hey there,

Currently just have Sonar 8 that I've never upgraded over the years.

Just ordered an upgrade for what was advertised as "Upgrade for 7, 8 and 8.5"

However, on the box it says SNR1-PROD-UPG-S8.5

Dealer was GAK.co.uk, a trusted site.

Is there even such a thing as an upgrade for 7,8 and 8.5?

Cause the Cakewalk store definitely does not advertise it in that way.

    Thanks in advance!

    Peace
