did you get something? I called cakewalk today and tried to buy the boxed set without the serial number. So, of course when I get the serial number from the download I'll already have the boxed set. They couldn't do it. Said I had to be a "known" x1"serial number" owner in their system.

Korg takes about 2 seconds to send an email... c'mon I'm in the same boat Korg...no email. I fail to see how it takes so much time to send emails-merely bytes of information. It doesn't make any sense at all.

It doesn't make any sense at all. Me either. What gets me is about 3 hours ago I get the Cakewalk Newsletter trying to sell me stuff. Probably from a different server though. Hey look at it this way, it's 22:48 here on East Coast so I'll go to sleep, pretend it's Xmas eve and in the morning when I check email Santa will have left me a download link!! Too many beers, I've gone delirious! I know I'm gonna be calling them in the AM. One thought though, is make sure if you have a SPAM filter, to check the SPAM box to make sure it doesn't end up there.

Lets do a little calculation...Emails were supposedly sent hours ago. If each email is 200 bytes in size and they sent out say...20000 emails, that's a total of 4 mb...which is diddly squat. Even the busiest of servers could manage that. Now, if cakewalk is send out emails with big fancy pictures of X1 that could change the bandwidth issue considerably. Why they would do something as inefficient as that is beyond me, so I'm thinking they did the right thing and sent out text-only emails...so, what's the hold-up here? We want some answers. Sending out emails has nothing to do with getting into the store, so saying the store is overloaded isn't holding much weight. Something's up.

Synthetic Faith Q: Should I wait to download SONAR X1 when the volume of people will be less? A: No. We have revamped the download system to scale up if required to handle the volume. The amount of people downloading SONAR X1 will not affect your download time. Server Error in '/B2cus' Application. Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. Really? Exactly the same error I get. Been happening for the past 4 hours. Have never been able to login today yet.

I love SONAR and I think Cakewalk is the friggen best! I could easily decide to be pissy and whine that I have no e-mail and all that, but instead I choose to say what a great company I think Cakewalk is. I think the staff is top of the line and I know that they care about their excellent product and their customer service. Every once in a while stuff happens and we just roll with it. In the end, all will be well. So, a big THANK YOU to the Cakewalk team. I can't wait to get my e-mail and give X1 a whirl. I will be patient. But if possible, I would love my e-mail by the end of Friday. If not, I will roll with it, I know you guys are busy. Thanks, -Charles

I was just at the Cakewalk Store and it was really slow! I wanted to add the boxed version for $29, but I never got the option to do it. I even went to the REVIEW stage, and still, no chance to add it. What gives?

I've followed these things for years, on most of the boards, and X1 has by far generated the most positive reviews, even from the snobs, that I ever remember. I guess people are voting with their $$$$ BTW 23:56 EST and no email. I'm not happy......

I understand the traffic on the downloads is going to be mad however like others have pointed out, and email is very few bytes and little bandwidth and if Cake can take the time to send me a newsletter letting me know I can purchase this thing, why can't they take the time to send me a 4 sentence email giving me my download link to the free copy I am entitled to?

Yeah but sending more people to a store that is already overloaded is an issue. We are trying to control the flow a little bit. Telling people to go to the store to get their free upgrade when it's already maxed out is just going to make it worse. We are trying to deal with the traffic as best we can. The volume is like nothing we have ever seen. Everyone who is going to the store paid for the upgrade at some point. We sent out only one email to one customer segment and the situation got worse. Nevertheless we did send out the upgrades email around 6pm set to deliver through the rest of the evening. Even that created even more volume. We are doing the best we can to make the experience better. This had nothing to do with emails either.

The very next one we did were the free upgrades as promised. There could be other reasons you didn't get it like your spam filter blocked it, you are unsubscribed, our records aren't accurate. Not saying that is the reason per se for you. We had to call some audibles today because of the popularity of this upgrade. I do apologize for any inconvenience it caused you.

Seems there are still a good majority without download links or a serial number. Including me.

I know many are frustrated and perhaps Cakewalk could have done things differently. But Cakewalk is an honorable company and they will get the emails and downloads out.

Yes indeed. Like I said, I will be happy if I can get the e-mail by the end of Friday.

Andrew Rossa [Cakewalk ] wormser Andrew Rossa [Cakewalk ] Fess Lets do a little calculation...Emails were supposedly sent hours ago. Understandable but yet you guys can take the time to send me a newsletter right in the middle of this but you can't take the time to send me a 4 sentence email with a download link? Seems odd to me as there are people, like me, who haven't even gotten the email yet let alone been able to go to the store. One email segment went out before we pulled the rest. I also should have been on the "upgrade" list having purchased the upgrade 12/7/2010 but nothing in my inbox and...In addition, I now cannot log in to my account at cakewalk.com. Have reset my password (which I have had for years without incident) multiple times but no luck. Looks like you may have shut down logins to the server so even if I do get a link in the mail I won't be able to download. C
