dumb question: if we already have 8.5, there's no reason to d/l Dimension, Beatscape, etc, correct?

Yeah, those that bought it 5 weeks ago have to wait for an email while people buying it tonight have serial numbers. That's good business...

+1000.  I'm pretty angry about this.  Those of us who paid in advance shouldn't have to go to the back of the line.  It's 11:30 AM EST and still no email.  If I had known this was how it would work, I certainly would have just waited until today to give CW my money.

Not dumb at all.

Earlier in this thread it was stated that you do NOT need to D/L these.

BUT...........

I am confused on what to do concerning these files:

Dim Pro Expansion Pack
Producer Additional Contest

Granted that info may be in the READ ME FIRST file but I'm not finished D/Ling so I haven't read that file yet.

I have 8.5.3 installed.

Q: How long will my download take?

A: We can’t determine this without knowing your connection speed. We have revamped our download delivery system to give you the fastest possible connection.

Q: Should I wait to download SONAR X1 when the volume of people will be less?

A: No. We have revamped the download system to scale up if required to handle the volume. The amount of people downloading SONAR X1 will not affect your download time.

Umm, have you actually tried to log in to Cakewalk.com?  If this is what you call "handling the volume", I'd hate to see what NOT handling the volume looks like.

Thanks, RH

Yep. Back of the line. And still no email. How about you?

And if that was not enough, I bought the boxed version over the phone today. They emailed me a serial number ( no reg code) for a box I won't have for a week that will already have a serial number and reg code with it. I can see it in my purchases, but when I click on details it tells me I am not authorized to view this purchase. It's a hoot. I hope the person that writes source code for the store has nothing to do with the source code of the products

Can you fix the UK server because I want to download the rest of the content, please. Also, the time limiting of downloads is really silly for those of us without superfast internet access. Thankfully I am using a download manager, but after 180 minutes the connection craps out, which is stupid, stupid, stupid.

There must be a better way to do this? Perhaps using a torrent-based delivery system or something.

:)

Maybe Cakewalk have had more people take them up on the offer than they expected ?

Which isn't suprising really, as X1 PE imho presents fantastic vfm. I was considering upgrading to Live 8 as I received a nice 25%+ off discount due to a bit of hardware I bought, but X1 offers much more than Live does that suits my needs.
And I can offload a few plugins I use due to the ones included in Sonar.
Then again, having never used Sonar before ( hated the look of the S8 interface ) I might take to it like John Prescott doing the 110m hurdles...

I don't think it's worth all the profanity. I'm upset about it but what can you do? All this "logistics" just means they did not prepare themselves for this very well. What can you do? Just wait like the rest of us I suppose. I ordered at the 1st of november and am wondering why some have theirs and I don't. It makes no sense.

So I wait....... Wait.......Wait......... As the hours wane on, I get what I can done.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

But at least Cake are keeping us updated. Better than silence.

As for the damm snow, it's still here - 1-2ft of it & its baltic outside, as I'm sure you know.

I was in glasgow city centre on sunday night and couldn't believe the LACK of the white stuff around.

At least it's due to thaw at the weekend, but then we'll just get floods instead

I have received no e-mail as of yet and it is 2:12pm PST or 5:12 EST. I really hope that I get an e-mail with my upgrade link before the day. I didn't know that I would be in the back of the line for upgrading to 8.5.

I is narked good and proper! Took the day off - been constantly checking email and it is nearly time for bed and still no email.

As far as I am concerend the 8th has pretty much been and gone here in the UK...

I only bought 8.5 on the 3rd November to get X1 on release. Knew I should have waited but kind of figured I'd be amongst the first in the queue, not pretty much the last...

The excuses are pretty lame and show a degree of disorganisation. Cakewalk could have had the email blast ready to go - the pre-orders are of absolutely no suprise...!!! lol

If it is any consolation, I have downloaded the main application and I'm just waiting for the UK site to become unclogged so I can get the remaining bits. X1 is OK - it's GUI is certainly aimed at us old folks whose eyes are going - I think Cakewalk might have just saved my remaining eyesight. Huzzah!
