Hey Julien... unfortunately, in most eBook formats (including the Kindle) the page numbers and index from the print edition don't mean anything. eBooks don't usually follow traditional page numbering. So instead, you need to use the search feature to find what you need. Sorry about that... but the search can actually be easier a lot of the time.

Thanks Scott. I am on my second Kindle, this one is a Paperwhite. I never had occasion to need to use an index or search before this book. I didn't realize I could do it but since it is setting right beside me I just picked it up after reading your post and figured it out. You touch the "magnifying glass" icon and get a search window. I typed in bus and got 59 locations!! Awesome, thanks. Something that becomes very clear while reading your books is what an incredible piece of sofware Sonar is. I realize that all these functions have been added over a decade or more and refined along the way with new functionality added all the time. There are a few small bugs but considering just how much functionality there is.. it is a really amazing piece of work. Julien

Hey Julien... yeah, in a way, the eBook edition is actually easier to use because of that search feature. You can't do that with a print book.  And you're right, SONAR is loaded with features, they're just not sitting there right on the surface. You have to dig a little to find what you need, but that's what the book is for... I'm actually glad to hear more and more people are getting into eBooks because I'm headed in that direction... although, I won't be giving up print just quite yet. I bought the Kindle version too, my first Kindle type e-book. I really like having it available on all my computers and instantly picking up where I left off. I'll definitely buy more. I've bought several Sonar Power books over the years and the Kindle is the easiest to use.

I just finished reading mine cover to cover. I all ways learn something new when doing this! Now I have to go back and work on the parts that I have highlighted. The good thing is now that this is my third power book the entire book is no longer highlighted!

SONAR tip: Remote MIDI Key Bindings -If your studio is set up so that your computer isn't located next to your MIDI keyboard or controller, using MIDI key bindings is a great way to still have access to SONAR. For example, if you want to be able to start and stop SONAR recording via your MIDI keyboard, you can just assign one MIDI key binding along with the Shift key or controller to the Play/Stop function and another MIDI key binding along with the Shift key or controller to the Record function. WOW! What a book. Only read it the once, got a ton of sticky notes hanging out the top that highlight the basics - thinks I would use on every track (such as take lanes, quantizing audio, using V-Vocal, Audiosnap etc)
Once I have 'mastered' the basics, I'll definitely be giving it another read!!
