Thanks, Dave! I appreciate you posting this for everyone. Now I have an official thread here for the book.

It's almost here... I've got more info over on my site at: http://www.garrigus.com/powerbooks.asp Both the print and eBook editions are now available.

And of course, I'll be announcing it in the DigiFreq music recording newsletter too...
Home page: http://www.digifreq.com/digifreq/
Free subscription: http://www.digifreq.com/digifreq/subscribe.asp

SONAR X2 Power! includes all the changes and new features in X2 and is up-to-date for the X2a update. In addition, it includes all the changes and new features that were added in all the SONAR X1 updates... X1a, X1b, X1c, X1d, and X1 Expanded.

Thanks!
Scott

Hey Clinton,

Thanks very much! I'm sorry you had to wait so long. But the nice thing about the wait is that the book is totally up-to-date with the SONAR X2a changes included. Hopefully, you'll find that SONAR X2 Power! was worth the wait.

Scott-

I think you have said before that this is out of your control; but, just in case, have you heard anything about a digital edition?  I'd prefer a PDF, but Kindle would be OK.  Just trying to avoid collapsing bookshelves.

Don't ask the question if you cannot live with the answer.

Re:SONAR X2 Power Available for Pre-Order. Due April 3. 2013/03/24 10:32:50 (permalink)
Hey Andy... Thanks! Yes, the book will be available on Kindle and Nook, as far as I know. It usually takes a few weeks for the eBook edition to come out after the print edition. I'll be announcing each edition release in the DigiFreq music recording newsletter...
http://www.digifreq.com/digifreq/

Hey Dick... Thanks very much! Yeah, I have links to various retailers on my site. Cakewalk should also have it in their store after it's released and I'll set up a link for that as soon it's available. The book gets distributed worldwide, so I tried to include purchase links for everyone.

Hey Gary (LordElPus)... Thanks! I appreciate it. Sorry for the wait, but yeah, it does take a little longer for the distributors to get the book shipped outside the US. I don't know if it will actually take till May though... hopefully, it'll get there sooner.

Hey Mario... Awesome! Thanks very much and I appreciate it. I hope you find this latest edition as useful as the past editions.

Hey John (Skyline)... Thanks a lot! Haven't seen you around DigiFreq for a while, but good to know you're still around and rockin' with SONAR. Hopefully, you'll get the book sooner than May, but I think it's up to Amazon as to how quickly they can get the book out to the UK.

So, on another note, how are you guys getting along with SONAR X2? Just curious...

Thanks!
Scott

Hey MrNeil2... thanks very much! Yeah, I think the retailers are battling it out to see how low they can go with the price. Maybe they have automated price checkers to see what the competition is doing and as soon as someone lowers the price, the other does the same. I've seen the price change on Amazon from one day to the next.

Hey Bonjo... thanks, I appreciate it! Lanes are definitely covered... Takes lanes are in the recording and editing chapters (including info on comping) and automation lanes are in the automation chapter. Hopefully, you'll find a lot more useful info in there too.

Hey Chris (Wood67)... Thanks for the support! Man, time really flies. SONAR has really changed since version 6. I hope you like the new book format. It's a lot bigger.

What kind of music are you guys creating with SONAR? Just curious...

Thanks!
Scott

Same here. I doubt it's really necessary to upgrade to X2 Power, how much is really that different ?

Hi Paul... actually, there's a lot of new information in SONAR X2 Power! Not only does it cover new features and changes for SONAR X2, but it is also up-to-date for the X2a update.

In addition, it includes all the changes and new features that were added in all the SONAR X1 updates... X1a, X1b, X1c, X1d, and X1 Expanded. None of that info made it into the SONAR X1 Power book, so you'll be missing out on quite a bit without the new book.

So in answer to your question... yes, I think the SONAR X2 Power! book is really necessary and there's quite a bit of difference.

Thanks!
Scott

Scott - I'm going through a bit of a prog phase right now (helped more than a little with Steven Wilson's latest solo album!).  That, plus some more 'pop' stuff that I can fit with vocal a capellas I dredge from the net.  Finally, I invested in Omnisphere a little while back so am exploring that to get inspiration.

Hey Chris... very cool. That must have been a rush to be able to work with Steven Wilson.

I checked out your Soundclick page... great stuff. I really enjoyed Dial-In 2 and Southern M1.

Did you do those in SONAR X2?
