All I know is I do not want this forum to fail.

Forum=people, not software (that has already failed in so many ways, Mike?)

Ya.

But strangely enough it's the software that's been the thing that's brought this ecclectic cauldron of wonderment together in the first place.

I love the Console view it has.

For whatever reason, console views are the least of my desires. And I used to own a 24 channel 8 bus console. I work exclusively in TV. I find that layout, for me, make perfect sense. Maybe it's my IT background (reminds me of databases?).

I have the Tascam FW-1884 that is now just a controller and if I want to move faders I have that (in banks of 8) for up to 256 faders.

For editing yes, but if I'm tracking multiple instruments, I find that the console is easier to move in and make changes.  I was totally in agreement with you several years back and working alone all the time.  Another thing I noticed in the TV is that I mix with my eyes and I get caught up in whether transients line up with each other visually instead of how it sounds and feels.

I do use the console view, even though I have the Tascam FW control surface and an Alpha Trak, I like the visual feedback and I will grab the moose and drag a fader sometimes...

I also detest the time difference between "us" and our Brit/Pacific friends, just when things get good the English are going to bed

the Pacific heck I dont know what their clock indicates...

I was going to ask the same thing. Where do I get one of those hats?

You couldn't find one that fits? I need an XXL.

I mix in both the track view and the console. Track view is great for when you just need to make a change to one instrument occasionally...I'll just adjust panning and volume in the track pane, then go into the ProChannel in the inspector if needs be. However, when you're doing some serious balancing of multiple instruments then nothing beats the console view, especially when for example you need to compare the EQ curves of multiple tracks.

So what's the conclusion here?

Cakewalk is not going to exist or fall into not a good choice of DAW?

Will this happen before or after the collapse of the dollar and the United States becomes one with the UN or we break up into smaller countries?

Seth will end up working for presonus and we will all switch to studio one dragging Brandon with us?

Bapu will continue to add post counts while his moobs disappear?

Bitflipper will share some good pot with us while he engineers the entire coffee house and  re- records Paul McCartney's Rockestra?

Tune in next week. Same Bat time. Same Bat channel.

Wait!

Could this be the sound of a Strummy returning to roost after a visit to the local ale house?
