Thank you, Luke. I'm listening to yours now and am glad you finally got time to write a new one too. :) And believe me, I often wish I had twice my ability! lol

There's a Ken Burns documentary in your future. And I mean that in the good way :-) It has that sort of gentle, flowing vibe that works well for that sort of thing. I agree that sort of latter second minute part is nice.

Absolutely lovely piece Janet. I really enjoyed it a lot. Both the piano and guitar performances are great.

I have a couple of comments about the mix. 1) My personal preference would be to have the guitar a bit louder. It's a really emotive part. 2) The bass/cello is a problem. The notes seem to come and go at times. I'd suggest trimming the very low end (I'd start experimenting with a shelving EQ at ~100hz) and then boosting the overall volume. You might have to resort to manually adjusting individual troublesome notes, which is a pain, I know.

Anyway, really great. Beautiful tune.

Peace,

Ian

Thank you, Dean. So glad you liked it. :) Documentary, film score, commercial, iTunes hit...I'm not picky! :) Thank you, Ian. Believe it or not, I dug this one out again last night and realized what a mess the bass is. So I've already started working on it. And now Rik's gone and added strings, so this thing isn't dead yet. lol

Havent commented on this one Janet, and yes it it melodic heaven, the first thing that draws me to a song.

You both done fantastic here but I do have to mention from 0:02 to 0:16 is the exact same chord progression as my "Back Home Again" song which I have recently taken down to fix a little!!

Shame on you,see you in court!!!

Well thank you, Cian. So glad you like it. I'm not surprised it sounds like something else cause I'm not really all that creative. Are you sure you didn't hear THIS one first? :)

Well I had a quick check when I heard it and it seems that my post was few days earlier than yours and you had commented on mine so it could of wormed its way in to your head......

heh look, that chord progression is as common as rain here in ireland so no hassle in the castle, no copyright on chords!
plus yours is an instrumental and the guitar takes the lead so it aint that noticeable at all.

and I would not be the best for originality myself.fact!

Anyway, good job again Janet, look forward to more.

Well, I always wonder where these things come from! I actually think this one was a mistake...I was trying to play something else and this came out. Then I had to fill another 2 1/2 minutes with something. THAT took a week! lol I can't wait to hear yours again though...you've really got me curious! :)

Leave it for a few weeks and come back to it. You may fall in love with it again. (but I hate the fixing stage too) :(

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!

Thank you, Rob. Although that's not surprising since it's late in the afternoon. :)

Your playing is beautiful as always Janet. And the guitar playing is "WELL TOO LOUD". I'm not saying the guitar playing is bad, it's basic scale playing and way too loud. But it's countering "YOUR MELODY". I don't mean harmonizing either. No offense meant to the person who added the guitar, but it just doesn't work with Janets melody. I'd like to have a go at it, but I guess that just isn't possible at this point in time. I enjoyed your playing Janet, and nice try by whoever added to your music "No offense meant to whoever you are", but in my opinion it just didn't work. Keep on keepin' on Janet! You Go GIRL! Serious Noize!

Lovely piece!  The guitar and the piano combo works very well!  Nice sound with the synth background.

Thanks Bobby. Glad you liked most of it. I rather like the guitar part myself, but I know not everything works for everyone. I'm working on the mix still. Thank you, Vicente. Glad you enjoyed it. :)

Warm and soulful music. Excellent for a movie. It's hard at least for me to combine acoustic guitar and piano but you managed very well. The cello sounds a bit indistinct, perhaps a matter of equalizing or lowering its reverb.

Thank you Equality.  We're working on a rework of this tune with hopefully another real live musician.  :)

Thanks Steve.  Really glad you liked it. :)
