I was 0 for 4 on my finalist picks for The Voice tonight. America voted and I'm still shaking my head. I think I'll pass on guessing the Idol winner, as I obviously have no ide3a what America finds talented.

Im kinda torn between Skylar and Jessica. Just really depends on what their genre of choice is for me.
I like Josh but for me, all his stuff in the end is the same and predictable almost to the point of being mono-toned and loses interest.

I think it just might be Skylar. She's got the chops and the stage presence. And a great look.
Joshua's got a great voice, but he lacks a consistent charisma. Sometimes he looks so bored on stage!
Jessica's got an amazing voice, but I get bored when she sings. It's not exactly lack of charisma, it's more like, "Okay, I've heard you do that. What else you got?"
Hollie has the entire package except charisma. Sweet kid, but no way she can win.
Phillip? Both my wife and I cannot get our heads around Phillip's popularity. His habit of sliding up to (or down from) the actual note kills me. Ugh.

After last night, I'm still thinking Josh and Jessica in the final 2. Holly or Phillip will go home tonight.
Skylar will probably hold on another week or two.
Here's the for what it's worth.
Josh has the best voice no doubt. He is in the Sam Cook, Al Green, Barry White vocal elite category.... singers who can really sing. Problem is they are not making that kind of music these days. Not in any great measure. He would likely have to sing on Broadway. Or be relegated to a niche market where the money and fame doesn't exist like it does in pop.
Jessica...... Second best voice on the show this season. Her forte is ballads. The first song she did was ok..... but mediocre at best. However, her second tune showcased her amazing talent. If she sang emotional tunes, ballads and such, I think she could fit in with Celion Deon and some of the other amazing female vocalists.
Skylar.... she's good but is not much more than a country singer. However, there is a ton of money and fame to be had in that genre. Her voice has a whiney aspect to it that reminds me a bit of Reba McIntire and while her voice grates on my nerves at times..... Reba is a superstar. Can Skylar duplicate that...? Probably not, but she can have a nice career.
Phillip... off the wall is the best way to describe him. While he is original, and many folks here appreciate that aspect to his musical style..... will America tolerate it for more than one CD? I think not. He would be the "flavor of the day" in a musical sense. Here today, gone tomorrow.
Holly... I don't know what to say about Holly. I really thought she'd be gone by now. Looks good, sings good, so having made it this far, she no doubt will be able to snag a contract with a record company and make a nice living in music. How far she goes, will depend on many factors. However, how many folks from AI who did not place 1st or 2nd are still in the public eye and on the charts.
To them all... I say enjoy the summer concert tour, because for most that will be their last big hurrah before returning to a normal life.
It will be interesting to watch the show as it plays out the final weeks. I'll be watching between my wife flipping between AI, HGTV, Repo man, Storage locker wars, and Gator hunters.

As we say... to each his own. Of the three women our lists are reversed. Watching the three sing together just solidified my belief that Hollie is better than Jessica. Jessica cannot articulate IMO. I agree that Skylar's (whiny) voice grates on me and has from day one. If I was king for a day last week I would have opted to keep Elise and send home Skylar or Jessica.
For the guys, yeah Phillip is an off the wall artist and Joshua's forte is not popular so in that respect Joshua is as off the wall (in terms of pop music) as Phillip.
For me the final two should be Joshua and Hollie. But I suspect if the public is to choose (and I always wonder if the public *really* chooses... it is a TV show after all) I imagine the final two will be Joshua and Jessica.
Like you I think Hollie or Phillip will be the one voted off the island tonight. I really hope I'm wrong about Hollie though.

Joshua and Jessica have zero charisma. IF the public vote matters (I know what you mean Bapu) then the technical aspect is immaterial. Phillip is likeable and different, Skylar is a perfomer and country is massive (not my thing but it's a fact). Holly was good last night but ultimately, she's a bit forgettable .
