Where ?   Unless I am mistaken - and I hope I am -  in  Sonar X1 X64  the Sonitus Plugins are all  only  DX  64 bit -  Sonar X1 X64 does not ship with a  native VST X64  version of them  ?

The Sonitus suite of FX are awesome. Throw the reverb on a bus and use it as a send and it's the bomb! The Sonitus Multiband Compressor is way better than the 'new' LP64 Multiband. Don't forget that they use very little CPU also. I have a project that's 36 tracks I'm working on now. I have sonitus EQ on every track at least twice (including on the synth tracks), the compressor on about half, and EQ on every bus. I have 9 buses. With Boost 11 and the Analyst on my master I'm at 9% CPU load. I'd be at about 45% in X1 using the pro channel.

Unfortunately I think X1 was the first step in phasing out the Sonitus FX suite via the pro channel.

The Sonitus plugin suite has been rock solid over the years even with the advent of all the new plugins being introduced.  They sound great and the interfaces intuitive.   The one thing I miss is freq analysis in the eq module.  Would be great to have no doubt.

i love the pro channel.  so convenient to have two flavors of comp right on hand.  I like the sontus also especially the reverb.  I really hope they keep both...

Another +1 for the Sonitus stuff. I've had them since before they were bundled in Cakewalk years ago. I really liked using them and felt they just worked well, gave good sound and well, I'm still using them today. Yeah the limiter is pretty bad sounding, so I just bypass it. But I like the entire suite. I prefer the Waves gate over the Sonitus gate but have used both.

I'm using pro channel a bit more these days, but I still don't like the eq because it doesn't allow me to hone in on specific frequencies like the Sonitus. I dig the 4k comp way more than the 76. I've never been a 76 fan...it just seems to dirt up a bit too quick for me and I like a bit more control on my compressors.

But anyway, I can still remember when Sonitus was first included as a bundle. The plugs were updated from the original ones I was using and these were so much better. I definitely agree they are some of the best sounding plugs ever included in a DAW. I hope they never let them die off. :)

As for boost 11, uggh...I can't stand that thing. I tried to like it, tried to use it, it just doesn't sound very good at all to me. I prefer the PSP Xenon for just about everything and the Waves L2 for rock/metal.

My guess is the Sonitus suite will not be phased out very quickly.

Take a look at the drum master classes, and you will see the Sonitus suite is still used there. For most things Prochannel is good, but if you really want to do some fine work with a EQ, the Sonitus EQ is still preferable (In my case that is).

I think Cakewalk does realise having a wide range of tools is a good selling point, so why removing the Sonitus suite? I do not see a reason to do so in the foreseeable future...

And yes - I like the Sonitus suite. I would really hate to see that go...

" .... Sonitus plugins have been available in VST for years now ..... " :) Where ?

On the Cakewalk store. They're not bundled with anything, the VST versions are available for separate purchase. But I don't think it says anywhere whether a 64 bit VST version is available. They might only be 32 bit.

Although I recall that there was an early Sonar version that bundled the VST not the DX version of Sonitus... I might be wrong on that...
