Sorry Cake

I am truly sorry for the battle that has gone on tonight, perhaps it is my fault.

I am trying to explain to the uneducated masses the class system, I may have overstepped the mark.
Look if you want to ban me for my behaviour I understand, please understand that some of your customers are uneducated buffoons, this does not excuse my behaviour but I will not be pushed around by these people.

I am not saying I'm better than these people but as an educated individual it is my obligation to imapart my morality even if it is considered wrong on to the uneducated masses.

I am truly impressed by the company and it's course, some have complained, even me. I was wrong the LA2 comparison was unbelieveable, so plus one and I give you kudos's.

All I can say is sorry do as you will but I will not be pushed around.

Good luck with the LA2 emulator, it is amazing.

Love Ben

    Ben,

If you're banned, wouldn't you then be "pushed around"?

    This is an easy fix.

Go into your Cakewalk INI file and add,  "ActLikeaTwit=0."

Works for me except I have to go back and reset it occasionally.  I think it's Panu's mods that override it sometimes.

    @ Ben....

You are an arrogant ass and need to sit on your hands for a while.

I am one of those uneducated buffoons... I have always approached this forum with humility realizing that are some stunningly technically smart and wise folks here, all of whom have been nice enough to "stoop down" and lend a hand without belittling those of us who are learning and growing in this amazing music technology.

I love the presets.  I simply do not have the time to engage in the detailed understanding of each of the software components.  Most of my time is spent with this software between the hours of midnight and one a.m. when I finally find time to myself.  The presets get me part of the way there, then, if I have time to truly study and understand the detail of knob function and meter reading and their impact on the wav, all the better.

It's about the music.  The joy of composition and creation.

This is not aimed at anyone in particular. But this place is full of great guys and gals. I like to think we are a somewhat tolerant group. I do believe that Ben has some personal problems that we can deal with. I am the most guilty of being harsh with Ben I don't like misinformation being spread. I think its a bad thing to let pass.  Now I think we are piling on. Ganging up on him and I don't believe he deserves that. You forum members have been extremely kind to me through the years. I consider you all to be a part of my family to a degree. I ask that we let it go now. Let Ben be. He has not done such awful things that we need to make him feel so unwelcome.

We know him. We know what to expect from him. Therefore we can deal with it in a kind and thoughtful manor.

Some of you may feel that I am going too far here. However, in good conscious I have to speak out. Let his apology end it. Let us be remembered as the kind of people we really are.

Calling people names , should be grounds for being banned.. You should keep your comments to yourself .. You tried to share your knowledge , thank you for your insight ,but instead your attacking the community by calling people buffoons .
In the end being humble is the way you should of approached this situation, instead of being arrogant and attacking the masses as you call it.. If your views aren't accepted move on, you tried .. End of story..

well iv been on this forum for years myself and have seen alot worse threads.
and personaly i got close to baned for , standing up for the fact that they dont clearly tell you that expanded is just a toolbox and that if you choose to go that root . you will need at least a few more hundred$$$ bucks to get the full version.
i have expanded and dont see me getting anything past this since i feel its too much. and using sonar for 10 years still didnt get me great deal, yes im sad and yes im still trying to get up some funds.
but even if i dont like the coments he posted ,and feel its way more than i did by just being off topic  yes,i was spanked by the admin.
I DONT THINK HIS COMMENTS EVEN IF I WAS SHOCKED AND OFFENDED IS NOT SOMETHING TO GET BAN FOR.
SONAR (cakewalk)IS A GREAT COMPANY AND IS TO ME THE ONLY SOLUTION TO MY WORKFLOW NEEDS.
I HUMBALY ACCEPT HIS  POST AS A SIGN THAT, EVEN IF CRAZY AND ODD HE STILL HAS WHAT IT TAKES TO BE PART OF THIS COMMUNITY.
since where all in the same boat,  and your is just bigger and faster. but im still in here treading water .
so il end by saying lets all be friends and make great music,i just make shure i take my meds before posting  now,

I usually find Ben, uh, "entertaining".  But his initial comments in this thread could be construed as fairly insulting:

...please understand that some of your customers are uneducated buffoons, this does not excuse my behaviour but I will not be pushed around by these people. I am not saying I'm better than these people but as an educated individual it is my obligation to imapart my morality even if it is considered wrong on to the uneducated masses.

Obligation and morality?  Hehehe...  See, that's entertaining to me.   Then again, I don't really care what he might think about those that populate this forum.

The only thing I could offer Ben at this point is my attempt at a Zen-like truism for the day: "Edumacation don't mean you're smart or know stuff".

Just take a little time to catch your breath, chill, and enjoy the headroom afforded by 24bit digital audio...  and a good quality camera.
