One week to go to SD3. I was hoping there would be some SDX promo to go with the release. They haven't been making new Producer preset packs for a few years so I am hoping they will be included in the updated for SD3 SDX packs. Are there any new video's out there?

I noticed you can resize the windows but the letters in words or anything else on the page do not get larger. It just changes the space around the drums. The amount of room around the kit changes. Being able to have other things in their own window will be good.

It's Bass, not Bass.

Actually you CAN change the size of the drums, there's an option of resizing the drums from (something like) 70% to 250%.  Possibly the text in the window as well.  There's one video that points that out, but the presenter doesn't actually show what the resizing the percentage option looks like.

That's good to know. I really didn't get on with SD2's interface and it was one of the reasons I went with BFD2 instead.  SD3's interface looks even darker than SD2 and I think perhaps I have incompatible eyes or something but I find the brightness of BFD3's interface much easier to navigate.

Resizeable fonts would go some way to making a more pleasing interface though and if it had changeable skins so you could make it brighter that would also be a big plus. I have say I'm not too bothered about the size of the drum visual as I don't think they have a real value other than eye candy.

As much as I want it I'm going FORCE myself to hang back a bit so that I can read some of the first impressions from the "average" guy on the drum-software streets.

Jimmy,

I've been continuously downloading one lib at a time since about 6:45AM today. I'm 1/3 thru the third lib right now.

I was getting an average download speed of 10MB/s earlier but as of now it's averaging 7MB/s.

Well I can't use my modem at home with Charter at 60mbps cause the modem is blocking Toontrack Product Manager! So I am at work using our MICROWAVE systme! I got the SD3 exe already but Part 1 may take 68 hours at this pace!

Hey guys. Since I am downloading zip files at work and will copy them to a USB drive and then copy them to my home PC later, do I then unzip them myself or do I need to be using Toontrack PM for that? I think I will be OK doing it myself but let me know if you see any issue with that.

Thanks much!

Jimmy

It's been said T&S will no longer allow a US customer to purchase in GBP. If you can do it, I'd say do it quickly.

Then again. For serial download purchases, strike a deal with a UK friend. Send them Paypal. They buy it. They send you the serial #.

Good point.

I've only done it once with a Euro friend (paid in Euros) on a serial download purchase and there was no VAT or if there was it was still cheaper than the US price, else I would not have done it.

One of the disadvantages of living in the sticks and being stuck with just one available ISP (Fairpoint). It sucks.

I didn't really have any trouble downloading everything.  Installing it is kind of slow though.  In fact I think I spent longer waiting for it to unpack and install than I did downloading it.  Might be because I installed it to a NAS drive (which had the free storage the full install needed).

I would say something about how awesome all those extra mics are, but with the manual only being online and completely inaccessible I'm not exactly sure how to use them correctly.  But just fiddling seems like they were pretty nice at making the sound wider.  Maybe there are some videos I can use until some documentation is available.

Seems to work with SONAR fairly nicely, though I've yet to do more than hook up a bunch of multi-outs and play some MIDI files.

I just realized that my speeds were not all that bad for my connectivity.

My ISP provides 75Mbps which, if I understand it correctly, is 9.3MB/s.

Sometimes speed tests tells me I get up to 100Mbps.

Leee,

Are you sure you're not mixing up MB/s and Mbps?

Ya, installing takes longer than downloads for sure. I download to my C: drive.
