Absolutely Sven, have at it. Words and phrases belong to no none, they are just tools we use to get the point across. I wouldn't actually say I invented it, it just came to mind as a catch phrase for a bridge section of a song I wrote years ago. I can easily see a very cool resemblance between the two phrases, and they both speak volumes.

This equation might have sway?...solve for A. +1 x A= -1...signs change...number stays the same....interestingly enough....which sign is used in multiplication... So...If we right the negative values...and put back the proper stollen, with out using the opposite of his ethics, which brought about a opposed force of sign....we solve for A...if it can be both...or either of....signs, yet holds no value=void of a number.

michael diemer In a way, they're going to be our new bosses. We need to put forth a better image here. We're acting like spoiled children (well, some of us are), who had their toy taken away, have just heard they will be getting it back, and can't manage to delay their gratification for a few more weeks. We
I like your post except for this part. No, they should not consider themselves our bosses. They are selling us a product. I'm very impressed with Studio One and Cubase, which have functions I love that Sonar does not. I will use Sonar for a while because I am familiar with it, but if it doesn't incorporate similar features soon, I will be moving to another DAW. For example, both Cubase and Studio One produce a magnified editing window when you click on any clip. That is phenomenal--so you don't have to expand the track view to work on a clip. Also, its easy to drag-select a region of a clip in that window and do small edits on the regiions. A bar and an node automatically appear, and you can raise or lower the gain of the clip--easy as cake. Unlike like Sonar, where you have to go through a cumbersome process of adding clip automation, clicking four times to create four nodes, then messing with the automation curve. Sonar is way behind in this department. Also, the metronome in both Cubase and Studio One are much better: you can quickly "render" the metronome as an audio clip for export to a remote drummer, etc. Oh, and exporting/consolidating tracks for remote collaborators is MUCH easier in the other DAWs. It's a nightmare in SPLAT. The "bosses" need to get up to speed. Sonar was way ahead of other DAWs in features a half dozen years ago. Now it's way behind. I must say I like the look and track/bus layout of Sonar the best. Studio One seems to have copied some of that. Cubase looks silly to me. The limited color palate is dumb--mostly bright colors. Keep the Tungston look, "bosses"!

It's understandable that Cakewalk customers will be concerned, impatient and frustrated.
Losing such a venerable and beloved company is not a trivial matter and somewhat heartbreaking for those of us who've been Cakewalk fans since the early days back in the '90s.
There is still much that isn't known about how well BandLab will handle the transition and future of "The Desktop DAW Formerly Known As SONAR", and again an understandable source of concern on the part of SONAR owners.
The fact that BandLab was wise enough to grab Noel Borthwick and Ben Staton to handle things bodes well, however, and though I had never heard of BandLab before all this, what I've learned so far gives cause for more than a little optimism.
And yes, those of us who plunked down our hard-earned cash for "Lifetime Updates" wouldn't mind seeing that investment last more than a few months and would like to feel like we weren't ripped off, but that also offers BandLab an opportunity to make a good first impression by doing something nice. I'm not referring to lifetime updates for the new product, just something nice.
Frankly, if BandLab simply keeps SONAR going under a new name, I'll be happy, so anything beyond that is nothing but additional goodness.
My initial impression of BandLab -- and Meng, in particular -- is quite positive.
Here's hoping it just keeps getting better.
Enjoy the time you've got, because it's all the time you get.

For what it's worth - my opinion is that if you are a product company, you are dependent on your customers to survive. The decisions that the business owners make are ultimately to be evaluated by your customers as to whether they choose to buy or not - if ultimate accountability lies in what someone else thinks, which is in this case the customer - then they are the real bosses. :)
