The Natives Are Getting Restless

Two threads locked, one of them the main discussion thread for the hugely anticipated rebirth of Sonar. It appears to me that folks are getting just a bit antsy. Perhaps cabin fever plays a role also; it certainly is bad where I live this time of year.

Can we all take a few deep breaths, step back a pace or two, and wait like good Ladies and Gentlemen, for the roll-out of Sonar's successor? I know emotions run deep in all kinds of ways here. But this bickering about things we have no control over, which are simply going to be whatever BandLab decides they're going to be; is not only unseemly in itself, but is the last thing BandLab needs to see as it works on delivering this baby. Doesn't exactly make us look good.

In a way, they're going to be our new bosses. We need to put forth a better image here. We're acting like spoiled children (well, some of us are), who had their toy taken away, have just heard they will be getting it back, and can't manage to delay their gratification for a few more weeks. We're adults, not children, so let's start acting like it. This forum is a wonderful place, and it's going to continue, along with Sonar. What's not to like about that?

While the arguing is definitely a huge issue, it's the assumptions that are really going off the rocker.  You can't assume anything as nothing has been officially stated yet.  You know what they say about assuming....

I'm pretty sure BandLab folks are familiar with how things develop on forums.  Discussion and speculation are the meat and potatoes of internet forums, so I'm personally not terribly put off by free-ranging discourse along those lines. Personal comments are the exception. Other than that, the mods are pretty forgiving here and most folks here refrain from such things so the mods don't lock threads very often, bless their overworked souls.

I think the BandLab crew should be encouraged that so many people are still willing to post at all on this forum so many months after Gibson pulled the plug on Cakewalk, let alone bothering to get into heated discussions about the future of Sonar. It suggests to me that a lot of folks will take a hard look at what BandLab comes up with from the Cakewalk IP, and that's a huge plus for them.

What a novel concept ... making music?  Why on earth would people on a DAW forum actually want to do that ? :)  Why waste precious time making music when they could instead manically ask questions over and over and over about subscriptions.

All I've seen is peace and harmony on these forums.
(except for that one thread with the "FAQ You" thing.. which im still trying figure out why someone would want to "Frequently asked question themselves").
Sounds painful.

I really enjoy this place (as im sure some of you can tell) but I get moody, snippy, aggravated just like the next guy.
Every time I realize this and try to turn over a new leaf, I just fall back in to the same old habits. Im far from perfect my friends and so are all of us.

Its just the people who never have good days, are never positive, only see the negative in every thing and appear as if Sonar is making them use the software.
Those are the people I have difficulty's dealing with. There's not too many people on this forum like that though.
99% of people here are good folks who only wish to engage with others, learn new ideas and most important.. Help others.

Prediction: this thread will just end up as a continuation of the other two which got locked. People will stop by to voice their shopworn rants about being "ripped off" by the Lifetime Updates plan, others will chime in about how they hope BandLab doesn't turn Sonar into a toy for loop-dragging kids, and then the same old tired discussions about where Cakewalk went wrong will fire up. I hate to say it

It was just a prediction, nothing more. Seems like any kind of "what does the future hold" thread turns into an orgy of the kind of comments described.

hmmm...perhaps a contest prize might silence some to go do....

I have something to give...a child with the right heart, in the right place....and does not need electrical power per say, other than the onboard tuner.

How does one setup...and what would be the ideal mode or muse in terms to gain the outcome, and or good, very good or perfect entries?

I still say...too many grumps....we need to be more like children in da heart....and play!

I hope it calms the storming...to put positives?...Good, very good and perfect be the value of...life!...direction..only one way....Give with the heart, and keep em busy doing no harm!
