They were offered it but they turned it down IIRC.

History will always be written differently depending on what side you're on...

What you don't realise is our man Daryl is still there in Rochester (not the REAL one though) writing another chapter.

"Jonbouy"

It's largely the French you should be raising a toast to on July 4th. I'm sure you already knew that though given your intensely deep interest and knowledge of the subject...

The actual declaration was signed in France with a condition that we could keep our morphine interests in Asia. Basically you got sold out for a bag of smack...lol.

Hilarious stuff. Historically correct though. You surprise me Jonbouy!

Why surprised? Am I not always correct and hilarious...

Hilarious and ALMOST accurate... You forgot the bit about Benjamin Franklin playing cards and drinking in a bathtub with a fat and rich French Noble Woman.

Nah, he lurves me far too much Ed....

I'd wager that Pete enjoys nothing more that a lengthy intellectual debate with his old pal Strummy.

And I enjoy helping him out with his little problems...

I once phoned him up and saved him from freezing to death you know.

He'd been queueing outside his local cinema for three weeks to see Closed For The Winter

Ol' Pete is extremely intelligent though....

He once had 50 million tons of sand imported from the Arabs so he could drill for his own oil.

And then you have billions of people, like me, trying to do our best to make ourselves understood and not butcher the English language. What's your opinion on that?

I'm from the South (Florida) and I got over butchering the language and making myself understood a long time ago.
