put out software that only looks and acts as intended for a teeny percentage of users Come on man, the above comment is speculation on your part. It's really surprising how some of you veteran users hate X1 so much. As in your case, you resort to using an untruth or exaggerated statement to strengthen some argument you have against the new design. It appears you're getting so tied up in the hate or dislike of the new design that the better you is not showing at present. Come on, man. Get a grip on yourself? You're usually one of the more decent users around here. I'm one of the users that like the new look, and I think the ControlBar is quite nice looking. More customization added to it wouldn't hurt, though. And as already stated, you can always just hide it.

I disagree w/ the way the op voiced his opinion but I do agree that they need to revisit the control bar. It's really no reason for everything to be THAT big to where you can't fit most, if not all, of what you need without having to do so much removing and rearranging.

LOl that CB is so miniscule that I can't see it! Good Idea though Some Ideas are thought of on the spurr of the moment, others think their plans through!

I think that these GUI based threads could be interesting in the sense that, given some encouragement from some of us to do a Feature Request that we might see some change in its functionality... Afterall, I do think that customization would make things a little easier for some here.

Afterall, I do think that customization would make things a little easier for some here. I couldn't agree more but replies such as............. I'm sorry for my attitude. I really can't understand how all of you people can work with that rigid horizontal Control Bar .This Control Bar is very absurd and unproductive because you can't see all Control Bar functions using a single normal monitor. You need an 1000 EUR monitor for that. Or maybe all Sonar users are lazy and naive in producing music so they don't try to be really productive and maybe they don't think to much when it comes for having fair improvements ??.Maybe they don\t even know what horizontal or vertical means . Screensets don't change the Control Bar are hardly likely to encourage me to put an FR in for something that doesn't bother me much. If they make it customizable, great, it'll be an improvement, if they don't it won't bother me either. It's not that the opinion is right or wrong, the attitude get up my nose. I must be getting sensitive..........

You're the last person I'd consider to be sensitive FBB - untalented maybe, but never over sensitive

+1.445342376234 on that. I know what you mean though FBB. I'm thinking that it would be nicer if people did really look at what they are posting before they hit the post message button. And, if I actually read what he was going on about I might have seen that he was talking about the control bar..not the entire GUI as well...or was he?

osd I never thought of the control bar as something that was meant to house all modules at once. If I have 75% of them on, there's room aplenty on my monitor. As stated above, those that are completists have Ben's SonarPlus, which puts the kitchen sink back up front. I've found the large size of the graphics (esp. track icons) to be a space-waster. Clearly, they weren't designed to be scaled down, and I'd call that a design oversight. In today's world of style sheet control, making interfaces that scale to many sized monitors is a must. I've never seen a toolbar or whatever-bar that is not wraparound. Why didn't they do that if some people want more stuff in there than fits horizontally in current resolution? So it becomes any number of rows.

There's actually several things I'd like to see regarding the CB. I've put in a FR for most of them. As well as expandable/collapsable modules, which I think John T done a mock up for, I'd like more indicators on it. i.e. screensets lock state, record overwrite/blend etc. I also think it would be really good if both the CB and Inspector visible states were remembered in screensets. As well as being able to have visible modules screenset specific. I can't see why anyone would possibly want every module available visible all at the same time but I can see the need to change them depending on function. The screenset specific idea would help that. Now if you don't agree you're all a bunch of untalented fools with no ambition.
