You could oil them up, Bill. I don't recommend anything heavier than 10-40, though.

Do you think we mild mannered posters should start subtly suggesting other forums or forms of social media to encourage the bad tempered posters to go and be, well, ...........bad tempered?
It's not really anyone's place to suggest anyone go anywhere or do anything. Look at it as if you were walking in to a bar full of people you don't like. Would you stay and tell them to go somewhere else? I wouldn't. I'd turn around, mumble something under my breath that someone would hear by accident, and get my butt kicked. Doh! :) The best thing to do is just ignore these people you speak of. Unfortunately, it's much easier said than done. I try and fail all the time.

I actually agree with the OP. It's a drag, and I always feel bad for being caught up with it when it happens. I need to develop the skill in allowing others the right to be wrong. To be fair to myself though I was actually careful not to bring the latest round of garbage into the CH for that very reason. I'm quite prepared to stand in the corner and take my punishment though. Do you have a nice whippy thin cane that stings? Just askin...

back in the olden days when I was at school, bad kids got the cane for being particularly naughty, hence I was a regular. The thing was that I was given a 'cane time' - usually the next day so I would wear 3 pairs of shorts under my trousers - didn't feel a thing :) Then they started caning your hand...........I tried gloves but couldn't get away with it

It amazes me that all that was such fairly recent history. I remember the Headmaster of my primary school (7-11yo children) administering '6 of the best' in front of the class to a particularly 'naughty' boy, so brutal was it that I attacked the Headmaster during his cruel fest, and ended up getting caned for doing that...  I still find it impossible to stand by while somebody suffers what I percieve to be an injustice at the hands of another especially when it comes from a so-called or self-appointed authority. It's a curse, as often I wish I could be more like the acceptant majority and just turn a blind eye for fear of rocking the boat or not wanting to be seen to be the one making a fuss.
