John Please lets not post attacks on people whose views don't agree with our own. Its unnecessary and counterproductive. Also the OP has posted a positive statement about tungsten 2. Lets be happy with the positive movement he has shown.

Dave000 I use Photoshop, RGB 16 million colors, Jpg file...
You almost can see the 16 million colors.
Now that's good!
And reality as an artist I do know that a human can not see 16 mil colors... and who cares!
Well, maybe. "It has been estimated that humans can distinguish roughly 10 million different colors, although the identification of a specific color is highly subjective, since even the two eyes of a single individual perceive colors slightly different." The Universe contains no limit to color as one blends gradually into another. The "eye" can see only what colors discernible light allows it to see even if the "brain" cannot decipher or distinguish each and every variant. The thought that a person's own two eyes see color differently is something I've actually experienced.

It's not a belief for me. I know exactly what you've had to say. You've had a lot say that has not meant anything to me. Well, that's not exactly true...I guess it's because of so many years working with musicians when someone starts blowing their horn I automatically decided if that's a person that I could make music with...you made that a quick decision for me. Not an insult to you...don't care enough to insult you. Just a fact. I believe that most people visit the forums to get help, learn and share knowledge about the software and music in general. Your mission has been "me, me, me" and I think it went south for you simply because you think others should be listening, caring about your opinions, assumptions, self proclaimed abilities and insults and be in agreement. You've put a lot of effort into making it clear that you want your opinion to mean something to folks so I thought I'd let you know what it's all meant to me. You'll probably take it as an attack because that's what you expect, as you stated. I guess truth can sure seem like an attack to one in your position. Your call.

I just updated to this new version and I like it, simply because the changes are practical and better for workflow. My primary focus is always more on functionality and I find the new color scheme and layout, much clearer. I can find things easier. I see the resemblance to Halloween – ha ha, but that does not bother me in the least. When I'm using Platinum I'm wanting to get work done efficiently and quickly, so anything that allows me to visually find things easier is a big plus for me One of my biggest beefs with Platinum compared to 8.5 was the loss of user customization. It been harder to find certain widgets and other things on the screen. If any of you still have 8.5 installed go back to it and you'll see what I mean. In certain ways we’ve gone backwards with no improvement over the years. This area of customization is one for me. I still wish we had more control over the colors like we used to. I used to be able to very quickly find pan, because it was a different color yet in Platinum it's the same color as volume and several the widgets. I'm glad to see Sonar moving in the right direction with this new scheme, I give it a big thumbs up.

It looks like Maschine now before it looked like Studio One. I like it..took sometime for my eyes to adjust and there are a few things I have to search around to find but I m sure I will overcome that. Especially when I havent used my DAW in over three months. But when I got back to it it was like a duck getting back to water. Very stable by the way plus I added 16gb ram. Though a programmer told me that I only need 8gb. I play through a midi keyboard and the latency is not so noticeable. Good times btw truepiano doesnt work so well and is less responsive.

a programmer told me that I only need 8gb He'd have fun running my orchestral template. This thing uses 9gB all by itself fully loaded, without counting what the OS uses. truepiano doesnt work so well and is less responsive TP is my go to for all my piano needs and I have no problems with response. It works really well.

and also the "disco" theme for Ableton Live.. simply solid themes for low light work to reduce eyestrain.. the standard Live theme and the prior Sonar theme imo are better in brighter conditions. dappa1 It looks like Maschine now before it looked like Studio One. Dave000 Really? Maybe the bakers should consider getting an artist who understands pallets! It's apparent to me that a programmer is trying to get SpLat to look good... Yea! That's NOT going to work! Orange and black... Halloween!? and nothing else looks right together... lol Maybe you should start over with a basic UI in black, white and levels for grey as the default then the user can chose a base color/s to fill in the greys. Cakewalk, you want the best!? it needs to look the best and the person you have messing it up now cannot get it done! YOU NEED an ARTIST!
I'm one of the few who doesn't like the tungsten theme. You know what I did? I changed it back to mercury. Problem solved.

Great find. I checked out preferences and saw "Themes", clicked on it and saw 2 choices: tungsten and mercury. I would guess that this "theme" feature is new to this version of Platinum. I sure have never seen this before. I'm sure the halloween guy will be glad to have this option. I hope we see more themes in the future.
