A bit south of Boston here, but yeah, the whole of New England is getting hit pretty hard.

At least they have another Super Bowl to help compensate.

Not to rub it in but it is in the upper 70's here in the Phoenix area.

Obviously you have a time-machine! I've been wanting one of those, but i'll have to wait for China to do a cheap copy before i can afford one. Why did you choose the 70's?

But seriously, haven't got a clue what 70's is, we other folk on the other side of the world go by Celsius (of or denoting a scale of temperature in which water freezes at 0° and boils at 100° under standard conditions.)

We go by Kilometers (a metric unit of measurement equal to 1,000 meters (approximately 0.62 miles).)

We go by Liters (a metric unit of capacity, formerly defined as the volume of 1 kilogram of water under standard conditions)

Our cars are right-hand drive.

You bloody Americans, why do you have to be so different?

Don't worry, if an East-vs-West war starts, i wont be complaining about the superior design of your Abrams Tank or F22 Raptor; bloody insurgents!

We're just kind of contrary. I think that's what got us here in the first place
It's been around 30 here in Fort Worth. I work outside most of the time, and it's decidedly unpleasant.
But then I think of the Northeast. Yeah, it could be worse here.

-11 here tonight. Wind-chill at -25 in the morn.
About 18 inches of very hard "snow."
Set a record 2 days ago at 1 degree. Previous record was 7 set in 1888.
30 degrees below normal for last week and foreseeable future.
Good thing I bought the wine and rum when I last ventured out.

Actually things are more or less back to normal although the subway is only running sporadically. Parking is the biggest problem the city is facing right now. The rumor now is of rain this weekend so we are expecting epic flooding, then it will all freeze into solid blocks of ice that will be with us until July. However this down time has been a great time to get to know the new Sonar much better.

Bandlab Platinum and every other toy I can get my hands on...and yes I'm way in debt over this obsession...

Gonna be -13 tonight! Who thought this is a good idea?

And more snow coming this weekend.

What is weird is how the birds are already singing their songs of love.
And already we are spotting ones that have been coming back earlier each year even though it has been colder and snowier for the past 5 years here.

Good thing I live in the city with corner stores just a few minutes walk. At least one has a good wine selection. Gonna havta try sumpin new to celebrate having a working furnace.

The salt they put on roads is not table salt which is what's in the ocean. It's, at least partly, potassium chloride which is what was used in lethal injections to stop the heart. Good stuff, huh? In Minnesota we have very little snow but the roads are white with salt. And -15 last night. High of 1 yesterday.

It is supposed to be 70 tomorrow in Dallas.  By Monday freezing rain.  We get all the weather - just usually not in one week.  But a little snow or ice shut downs the city - trust me, you don't want to be driving around w/ others that don't realize snow means don't slam on your brakes.

Lutefisk - is that what they put on the roads up thar?

That may depend on where you're at.  My sister-in-law works for a bulk goods transporter/distributor and the salt they get by the boatload  (from some mine in Ontario, I believe) is both sent around for the roads and to places like Sifto which sell both bagged/road salt (her company may even bag it for them) and table salt.  All from the same salt.

Salt doesn't melt the ice below a certain temperature so they use sand and gravel around here when it's really cold, like it has been for weeks now.  I could use some Spring !

Sodium chloride salt is relatively ineffective below about 15-20.  A lot of municipalities use potassium chloride or magnesium chloride which are effective at temperatures below 0 F.  However, these chemicals have some toxicity to the environment and humans if levels are high enough.  In any case, its less about the ice melting chemicals ending up in the ocean, and more about oils and debris that get caught up in the snow that would end up in the ocean that is also a concern.  These items get left behind with normal snow melt.

Well since no one outside of Cakewalk knows what's going to be in the update, after you get it you can pick whichever you feel was the biggest special surprise to you, and say that was it

A special surprise for me would be a more visual highlight of the current active track/console track... For example higlighting the whole track/console strip...
A small thing like that would be huge... ( track text BG light blue color as it is now is not enough IMHO)

A big surprise for me would be when you open a PRV view for a MIDI track that has lots of controllers, you don't see all of the controller lanes for all the controllers by default.
