Just got mine some hours ago and its as good as the concrete limiter. It sounds really good on  vocals , guitar and drums, giving some "warmth" and placement in the mix imo. Cake´s PC tools are having
a quality which make other Vst pluggies more and more unnecessary to me.

Thanks cake !

I have heard this new compressor described as "transparent" and "warm". How is this possible? Maybe I don't know what these terms mean lol What do they mean? Thanks

VST versions would probably require lots of additional testing and support. Not to mention, VST emulations of the LA2A are a dime a dozen, with the competition already having a significant headstart in marketing and market share (UA, Waves).

With PC, Cakewalk is positioned to offer a value to Sonar users that it cannot offer anyone else - smooth, seamless integration into the workflow without the hassle of window management.

Got it, too. Waiting for the moment, when the PC moduls will fill one monitor screen and wipe out the trackview.....and : i am feeling with customer #1001 (poor guy - or girl..). By the way: are there so many Sonar customers worldwide? Awesome ;-) Cheers Michael

there's a lot of other emu's but i dig a vst model ...why ?

1) Size
2) the ability to use it else where
3) a way for us to support Cakewalk by not buying (because of n 1 and 2) other emu's .....except softubes that are my babies ;)

No games being played. Just a good plugin that is proprietary to Sonar, the Best DAW on the Market. Sonar users are rewarded once again, and others are left to buy $200 equivalent plugins for their expensive Mac rigs and even more expensive Pro Tools systems. We win. We always win, now.

I managed to get mine before the cut off!
I am a new user to working with computer DAW's (or rather Sonar X1 Producer Expanded) after having upgraded from my Roland VS-1680, but since I am also addicted to purchasing great gear, ( I have G.A.S.- "Gear Aquisition Syndrome) I figure it will work well and sit nicely in my arsenal along with my PC4K Compressor, PC4K Expander/Gate, and my new Concrete Limiter!
Lordy Lordy, what's a poor ole musician to do? :(

I just got it, and so far I think it's the best of Cakewalks large stable of compressor-limiter type tools for vocals and acoustic guitar. Speaking of which, it seems like it might be time for the Bakers to declare a moratorium on compressor limiter toys for PC... It's compressing my budget!

For the individual plugin? No.  For chains utilizing the PC2A? Yes.  they are located in your ProChannel preset folder and have Leveled in the title.
